I bought both, opened both, and unlocked both motifs. They worked for me, and I was able to apply Scale Caller to a staff on one of my toons.

Fortunately I was late logging in last week when the motif was bugged.

Logged on to try and learn the Fang Lair motif since it seems most could use and learn it after "fix".
Still not working for me. Waiting for a fix...

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom please update as to whether this has been fixed. Hubby and I both have several Master Writs that ask for these styles but we will not be buying them from the Crown Store until we know that these are fixed. It's looking like purchasing from guild traders is going to be the safest route to learning these styles.

Speaking for the in game pages, though, I learned several fang lair last week, then learned a few scalecaller this week after the patch, and learned a few more of both scalecaller and fang lair last night. So while the above is just my best guess/assessment, I can confirm that the in game pages are working just fine and you can learn them in any order (as long as you didn’t bug your account by learning scalecaller last week).

Thank you! This helps in our decision whether to purchase or not. Still hesitant on purchasing anything from the Crown Store after seeing the past bugs and the customer service offered to those that received the bugged products.

I'm in the same boat - actually, I have a Master Writ for Fang Lair in my quest journal, blocking me from doing anything else until it's resolved. I'd simply dump it and carry on, but it's a big Writ.

It is VERY frustrating that the communication and speed of response is awesome while they're trying to fix a problem with their ability to sell an item, but now that's been sorted out those of us who have a problem are left to "wait and see". It's really not good enough - and I'm trying v. hard over here to stay positive about the game!

Oh that really sucks to not be able to accept new master writs until you can complete that one. Hubby and I have been putting all the sealed master writs for Scalecaller and Fang Lair into housing chests until we can complete them..I almost read one two weeks ago and was lucky enough to see the style before doing so. I hope this gets resolved for you soon!

Yes, I agree with you that the customer service offered to the players who purchased the bugged motifs last week are not giving high priority on having the issue resolved. It seems that once ZOS received the money for the crowns used to purchased these, that their thoughts are "why worry, we have already been paid for a defective product, why correct the problem....those people can wait." But that is just my opinion. :-(

Good God I never thought of it that way. That's pretty low lol. Almost feel bad for folks who got screwed this way.

Somehow I think this issue will be put 'on hold' they've been on it for over a week now..... Its just like the Sapriach Motif(or whatever its called) that one hasen't even arrived yet -.-.

This is where I am now. I bought that Fang Lair motif from the Crown Store and it broke because I happened to learn Scalecaller first. The bug that prevented people from being able to learn it was fixed, but those of us who bought both and learned Scalecaller first are still bugged after more than a week. There has been no update on how our bugged accounts are going to be handled, or when this issue will be fixed. I am stuck unable to use a motif that I paid 5000 Crowns for.

To be completely frank, I am seriously disinclined to purchase more Crowns because of this.

I just got a reply to my ticket.

We are investigating reports of an issue that is preventing the Fang Lair Style motif from being learned if the character has previously learned the Scalecaller Style motif. As we continue to investigate, the motifs have been removed from the store temporarily.
We expect the issue preventing the Motif from being usable to be resolved in an upcoming patch.
At this time, you have two options. Either you can hold onto the motif, and learn it after the issue is resolved, or we can remove the motif from your inventory and refund the Crowns.
If you would prefer to refund the motif, please leave it in your character's inventory, let us know which character is currently holding onto it, and we will proceed with the removal and refund. We look forward to your reply!

So these seem to be the only options at the moment.

Standard reply, and it’s not accurate. The motifs are now back on sale and it’s been over a week for those of us who bought it - we’ve had communication (in this thread) talking about a fix that we should hear more about almost immediately (phrases like “later today”) - and then nothing.

As stated above it will be fixed in an upcoming patch or get your crowns refunded. The only reason I reckon they haven't replied is they don't know yet, but one would hope it will in the next patch in a week or 2.
