Guild bank deposits disappearing... is it even safe to deposit gold in guild bank?

For the second time in a week, one of my guild mates lost a large deposit of gold into one of my guilds. The gold was deleted from his inventory, but it never was added to the guild bank. There is also no record of the transaction in the guild log. There have been no problems like this until recently. What the heck is going on? Total losses so far over 400K... this is crazy!

Is it simply unsafe to deposit gold at all into a guild bank? I searched on Google, though, and found several old threads about similar incidents where this is referred to as a "bug". How the heck can a bug like this go unfixed?

send in a ticket hell get the gold back to deposit again and it should work. its a ongoing bug all of us in trade guilds have told zoses thousands upon thousands of times about it and they refuse to fix it or even acknowledge it as a issue

A serious issue. My brother deposited 1mill+ gold into our guild bank and it was removed from his inventory but never deposited. Today is 2 weeks since his first ticket was submitted. Still waiting. I’m usually vey patient with the issues in this game but 2 weeks is beyond ridiculous. With that and cyrodill nearly unplayable after last update. This may be a wrap for me with this game

if their like my trading guild they have an account for it just because of this bug that the money can go to. ask your guild leader and send it in the mail to the account. its a easy work around for the bug.

The bug has been around for a long time. That being said it is getting worse, as i've seen it happening more and more. There is a fix though. The glitch seems to occur when money is deposited in the guild bank but you exit out of the bank interface before the game records the transaction. The easiest way to see if the game has recorded it is to watch to see the total gold amount in the bank rise by the amount you put in before you back out of the screen. If the guild blocks out the total gold amount I would, as general rule, wait a minute after depositing before backing out. I've never had or heard of it taking longer than 30sec, but i'd just do a minute to be on the safe side.

I feel I need to highlight this issue again, last week a guild member contacted me to say he had deposited 60,000 gold into our guild bank and its wasnt showing as deposited. He put in a ticket then (and is still waiting for this to be resolved) He then sent me 60,000 gold to deposit in his behalf. The same thing happened to me. I put in a ticket and the amount was refunded to my account. The mail from support also mentioned the issue with exiting from the bank before the transaction is recorded. Last night I put 50,000 gold in the guild bank and the same thing happened again, no record of the transaction in the guild bank, no gold deposited and my bank down by 50,000 gold. I took particular care when depositing to make sure I gave the page enough time to update. So yet another ticket raised to support. An unluckily for my fellow guild member, who previously deposited last week, tried to deposit again yesterday afternoon and lost his gold again, so he has raised yet another ticket. This must be happening in more than just our guild, does anyone know of other guilds this has affected? We are a small guild trying to keep our trader going each week and we cannot do this if the deposit into our guild bank is not working as it should.

Some guilds don't even give you privilege to see the gold account (unless rank is high enough) so you don't even know if transaction is ok or not. I put generally 20k+ gold in one of my guilds several times per month but maybe half of that or most of that never registered and I'm not even aware.

Had it happen before as well... 50/50 response rate with ZoS customer service.

First time they said 'We're very sorry, here, have your gold back'.

The second time they said they had no record in the logs so I lost quarter of a million gold

For those that have experienced this problem, is it possible that your gold was deposited but into a different guild? I had that happen once, the window showed the guild I wanted to deposit into, but the deposit went to another guild (fortunately one where I can see the gold balance, not a trading guild).

So I have been playing on consoles since 2015 and I just now experienced this for the first time. I have lost 20k so far trying to deposit my weekly dues and they are not showing up in the guild bank.

From what I gather after reading responses, it's not a matter of IF this will happen, it may be a matter of WHEN it will happen. Hope no one else experiences this.

This is a well known and documented issue. Occasionally, when depositing to the guild bank, gold and items leave your inventory but dont make it into the bank.

You can report your missing gold to ZOS. They have records, even if the bank deposit history doesn't show it, they'll be able to see it. I've had these tickets resolved in as little as a couple hours, and as long as about 48 hours.

To report, type /help in the chat box, and report a "character issue". You can go into as much detail as you want here, but no matter what you say, you will still get the same automated mail telling you to check with your guild leaders and other guild banks, so typically my first mail is just "hey, my gold went missing again, can you help me retrieve it?"

Once you receive the automated mail, respond with your account name and character name the deposit went missing on, the guild bank you deposited in, amount of deposit and approximate date/time of your deposit. The more info you give, the easier it is for them to find it.

I've started mailing large deposits to the guildmaster, just to be safe. Obviously this isn't recommended if you have trust issues. My partner runs the guild, so no worries for me.

You are lucky! After the debacles of the first couple of years with guild funds, I haven't trusted them since.

If the guild requires 10K a week to remain a member, they can keep their guild. Since guild stores don't have anything I care about anyway, why would I care?

Paying a "fee" to subsidize somebody else getting rich is as bad as paying an HOA in the real world. Offers nothing and the reward are even less than that.

Happened to me a while back. It was only 15k for a raffle, but I never saw the gold again. Costumer support said they could see the transaction went through just fine on their end (and offered no help whatsoever), but as far as my guild bank and my inventory were concerned, it vanished. It's possible that it did actually end up in the bank, but there was no verifiable in game record of it on either end. My trade guild has so much gold that no one would notice 15k without a the deposit history.

The only thing I can say is that when you deposit money in the guild bank, make sure you stay on that screen for 15-20 seconds. I have heard that depositing and directly closing the window is the culprit.

Over the thumb around 25% of my deposites since summerset release disapeared into the void. No "real" harm done to me, was nearly all receipe dupes i deposited in my private guildbank.

This bug has been in the game for years now and ZOS has shown no interest in fixing it. I'm guessing it's a complicated fix in their spaghetti code, so they'd rather just pay support staff to refund people the gold.

If they can't fix it, why don't they let people see their own deposits? That way, they can contact support right away if their deposit doesn't show up as a transaction in the guild bank (they don't need to see any other transactions, just their own).

Would check email. There's usually a mail within day. Would try submit again if nothing else.

It's also affecting items now. Lost a stack of 9 motif books being deposited into a guild bank. Wasn't in inventory. Wasn't in the guild bank. And, it wasn't in my bank.

You really have to wait at least 30 secs without closing the bank ui to be sure your deposit goes through. The deposits don't always go through right away just like when get a long loading screen. If you close the ui before it's done your deposit will disappear into the void. if you want to check deposit 1g without closing the ui and if it goes through your previous deposit should have processed. If it doesn't go through and get message saying "Waiting on Previous Transaction" just keep waiting until you can make that 1g deposit. I haven't been hit buy this bug since doing this. If you have an untimely game crash or just forget you can still have it happen but it is avoidable if you are careful.And remember to keep reminding this to your guildies before and during Auctions and raffles etc... I hope this helps people.

What an excellent suggestion. 9 times out of 10 people have either not waited long enough for the deposit to go through or they deposited to the wrong guild.
