Fine, don't give our stun back

Templar has the worst CC options in the game and one of the few options we used to have, the stun on Spear Shards, was taken away from us for no logical reason. Ever since, Templars have been begging for CC improvements, especially getting our stun back.

As a long-time Templar main, I'd like to say: nevermind. Forget about it. We don't need that stun back.

Instead, give our Spear Shards an AOE root like the ones enjoyed by most other classes. An AOE root on Spear Shards would perfectly remedy what we lost and benefit the underutilized Templar tank playstyle. If you nerfed our stun because you thought both immobilizing and disabling the target in your AOE is too powerful, then rooting would have been an intermediate nerf option that only immobilized the target but still allowed attacking/healing/shielding/etc. Taking our entire CC function away was excessive and needs to be reversed by adopting this intermediate option.

Still think that's too OP? Fine. Give the AOE root to only one morph, and take away the resource return synergy on that morph. The result would be creating a tank morph (with AOE stun) and a healer morph (with resource return), and DPS would simply have to choose between the two.

Furthermore, the AOE root morph would partially remedy the ongoing bug plaguing Puncturing Sweeps and our inability to hit moving targets in PvP.

This redesign of Spear Shards would accomplish the developer's current goal of diversifying roles across all classes and compensate for an unjustified nerf to an area that was already a weakness for our class.

being a templar main do i miss the stun from shards yes do i think we absolutely need it no i dont. the stuns were great for certain mobs in dungeons but outside of that i really didnt use the stun for anything else. i think what this change was honestly was shards was more of a ultility thing rather than a cc thing in their minds and they just made it different to start with and decided to go back to their older idea.

    I kinda expected a Warden thread... x)
I guess an AoE root would be fine on that skill given the delay, though the Devs seem to prefer overloading Templar with snares...
    DAGON - ALTADOON - CHIM - GHARTOK
The Covenant is broken. The Enemy has won...

    Elo'dryel - Sorc - AR 50 - Hopesfire - EP EU
