Do lack of housing slots tempt you to not buy houses?

But for store crown only houses it is also the price of them. So even if they trippled the itemcount I would not buy. For the in game gold houses anything bigger then medium is a no go for me due to itemcount as it will look to unfinished.

Houses being to dark and a tricky non precise placing tool are other things that hold me back.

I totally agree on the houses being too dark. I highly recommend the new Clockwork lighting fixtures. Finally there are lights that can light up entire house. The inside of Strident Springs actually feels bright.

Housing slots seem to be very solid. Otherwise Zos would not keep putting out more housing. Whatever the sales are speak much louder than this limited poll.

Lack of a reason to have a house is my main reason for not having a house. Not counting the four free apartments, mind you. My apartments are empty, other than the stool I created back when they were first introduced. Aside from aiding in Lava Foot Stomp, the apartment in Ebonheart could not be more useless. At least the other three are in zones that have decent cities.

Furniture crafting is an expensive and complicated hack bolted onto the crafting system. This makes me have little interest in crafting furniture. I think the total number of furniture recipes that I have learned since the system launched can be counted on one hand, and I am pretty sure that all of them were learned by accident.

So, my places sit empty. Housing slots are irrelevant.

I would say yes, with the qualifications of these additional factors:
    • I don't care for big houses and wish there were smaller houses/apartments in more interesting areas, so that is what mainly keeps me from buying any of the new houses as they are all huge. If housing had more functionality, and size was related to how much functionality you could get, I miiiight consider a larger house. Even with storage coming, though, I have enough special slots in my current medium home to accommodate the chests
    • Of the existing houses, lack of slots definitely keeps me from fully decorating my existing home. With ESO+ I have 400 slots and I'm at the point where I'm playing the "what can I drop and not lose the look I want" game every time something nifty comes out on the luxury furnisher. There are still areas of my home that I haven't decorated fully to the degree I wanted, even in a medium home with 400 slots. Selling additional slots in the crown store in increments of 25 would be something I could deal with, as long as they were reasonably priced. Maybe cap how many slot increments you could apply to a certain house, by house size (like a Medium house could only have four additional 25 slot increments applied), if the overall issue is performance
    • And just because - I hate that my pet/mount/assistant slots are so limited. Can we just consolidate that category and let me put in as many goats as I want at the expense of other furnishing slots?

Ugh, I so hate this game, I'm playing it too. xD

But yes, still haven't bought a notable home, because I can't decorate large homes properly. Most medium homes reach the limit already pretty easily.

And like others said, I noticed that especially lighting cuts into the item slots. If I want a place to be properly light at night, at some properties they take 20-25% of the available slots. :|

Yes. I have a TON of room at Hunding's Palatial Palace for example and can't even furnish it the way I want. The outside area is HUGE and I can't utilize it all, not even close. I wanted to make the outside one huge party zone but I can see I'm going to hit the item limit way before I'm done. Also, I wanted to put all my mounts in the stable, but nope, limit there too. Ugh!!!

Why is there a limit at all? If we have the space to put something we should be able to do so. At my house in Rawl'kha I'm almost at my limit for collectibles and special furnishings. Why can't I put as much of those items as I have room for? I want all of those types of items in ONE place, I want them all together like a trophy room. Why can't I do that ZOS?

***Also, can yall add a feature to allow us to lock an items position? I can't even count the number of times I've "selected" an item I did not want because it's under, on, or close to the item I do.

I think knowing that I'm likely to hit a wall relatively soon if I started decorating is part of it, but I think it's more that the houses just don't feel like homes. Perhaps the limited storage being implemented will make a difference, but with so little being interactive they they feel dead. You can't set an apple down on a table and then pick it up and eat it. It's just wax. You can't "use" your bed. I rarely visit either the inn rooms or the house I bought furnished on the northern coast of Vvardenfell. The latter is very attractive, I think, but still inanimate.

All good points. But they're hard to overcome. The item cap would be much simpler to fix.

I've hit the item limit trying to decorate just my medium Sleek Creek house with a few areas unfinished (and not having done anything as particular as decorating a whole library), and I know the issue of too much space and not enough items gets even worse with larger houses, especially since I personally enjoy a very cluttered and lived-in aesthetic, so I'm really unlikely to ever buy a larger house than Sleek Creek unless the furnishing slots increase!

Including the special furnishing items - I love the ability to have pets or mounts around with specific aesthetic purposes (a small guar herd, a nixhound infesting the larder, etc), and I'm already picking and choosing the ones I have to leave out. :(

My Sleek Creek House looks totally over furnished compared to my Ald Velothi.

I would totally buy more houses if I could furnish them properly, I play with the huge ones on the PTS and hit item cap so fast I would not buy one.

Yes, they failed big to categorize some houses (besides the slots issue in general), Twin Arches for instance is in the same category as let's say Kragenmoore (200 slots with ESO+) and it's so wrong.

There is a big difference between the two houses, one with a courtyard, the other one without, also the interior size definitely differs, so while 200 can be ok in Kragenmoor, for Twin Arches is not remotely enough.

30 for Saint Delyn is also too few, it's small but not tiny as other rooms.

In the end the only houses with somehow good ratio size/items are the 100 slots (ESO+) little apartments.

I certainly would love an item cap, on all categories.

i would quite like to have all my busts and trophies in one house than spread out over 2 or 3.

YOu can use large items to get the big houses filled, but it lacks detail. Have this problem at hundings.

    so yeah, more space please!!

Initially I wanted a large home to decorate every corner and make it a heaven for my altmer. In the end I bought the autumn gate for 60k gold even though I have millions to buy all the notable homes. My house its quite small and with eso plus I have 200slots. I am not even close to reaching my dream plans. Zos do something. Double or triple the limit.

When I'm spending a good 1/4th of the slots on lighting in some houses... sigh. I do wish I could fully decorate some of the larger properties. I spend more time trying to figure out creative ways around the item limit than I do actually creating and dreaming up unique spaces on my properties. I'd love to do more with housing and 100% fulfill any of my creative visions, but that's never going to happen unless they double or triple the current limits.

I'll be pretty tempted by these new properties, but in the end if I can't decorate it the way I really envision it then I really can't justify the purchase.

To do this modest room I had to remove almost all from the yard. And that's only part of what I wanted to do. And this is the smallest house of the proposed. And what happend if I want to buy Strident Springs for example? Live only in the hall? This restriction on the amount is simply ridiculous. It's annoying.
The only thing that made me buy subscriptions is the crowns - which I spent buying add-ons or interesting things (costume or mount), but definitely not for the purchase of a TEMPORARY SLIGHTLY increase in the capacity of the house. The capacity of each house must be at least three times large.
