Do lack of housing slots tempt you to not buy houses?

With all these huge houses coming out, it sucks that there isn't a increase to compensate

I will not be buying another Large house until something is done about the limit.

I have Earthtear Cavern maxed out at 700 limit, and could use another 700 slots and still not complete it.

Also yes, 700 slots is pathetic amount. I have Serenity Falls Estate, I got full 700 slots and didn't even touch area with storage building.

I don't know how they expect anyone to use the empty Coldharbour plot effectively with so few slots. That one kind of blew my mind.

I have all but one of the staple homes. Most are closets and I have the item limit to thank.

what makes me not want a house is because i want a 2 room house like we have in single player morrowind.
and prefer it to be underground.
[and no i dont want it to be an apartment]

I think the only thing that stops me from getting a said house is the price.

I don't mind the slot cap limit as I do not suffer from the "horror vacui" syndrome , and I am rather interested in making a house look weird (with some exceptions) rather than "detailed" if that makes sense. :)

    Yes, absolutely.

There are many houses I would buy if the furniture slots was sufficient, it's not AT ALL at present, so I don't buy, I'm not even close to be tempted.
Even some medium houses look kind of empty with the current low furniture slots number, no way I'm going to spend for large ones or manors with so few slots available.

I'm at this point too - I want to decorate more houses - I want them to take my money.

I just lack the desire to get more when I can't even finish the ones I have now, and know that as soon as I get another I will just be sad about not being able to decorate it. I know I'm pretty close to be a whale, a smallish whale, but a good source of revenue nonetheless. They are definitely missing out on more money from my end.

The three things wrong with housing are:
    • Item cap.
    • Difficulties placing items precisely.
    • Dim lighting.

Those keep me from decorating the houses I have -- the biggest of which is Hunding's -- and certainly keep me from buying more.

Honestly, the item cap is probably the least important of the three. Still, if I wanted to have a library, with all the books I've seen around the world, the item cap makes that quite impractical. And some of the best looking items in the game are small -- the hourglass, various bottles/decanters, mugs/glasses, etc. Decorating with those would hit an item cap quickly.

Have two homes. The cap on furnishings did not affect my choice to purchase.

Seeing some answers no but have purchased a home and others answered no but gave other reasons it seems the poll will not even begin to answer OPs question.

I'm buying all the houses as I get the gold to do it, and will worry about furnishing them at some point, but for now I have other things to keep me busy.

Maybe by the time I get around to it, there will be enough slots.

Lack of houses I want, in locations I want, for gold not crowns is my demotivator. Slots do suck, I def agree there. I have the Hundings house and its for sure not filled the way Id like it to be but I managed ok. But thats not why I haven't bought more, I want to, just nothing I want. I have revisited every single house many times and meh. Need more cool houses for gold.

It does but the thing it really does is I don't farm patterns and blueprints like I once did. Now that my house is at max and I really like what I have done the desire to remove something just to add a new thing isn't very appealing. If I had more room I would be more active with the trader and more inclined to farm, as it stands I don't do either very much now.

Until they substantially increase the item limit, I won't be buying any other houses.. I have a house that is half finished because of the item limit. Why would I buy another house and have the same experience?
  • Nocturnal_Annoyance

Yup, my poor Hundings feels so unfinished in a few areas because I simply can't place anything else without taking away the stuff I like. I want another large home to decorate, but not until I know I won't need to make as many sacrifices as I do now...

I've only bought inn rooms and one small house because I can comfortably decorate them all with their ESO+ item limits. But on the largest ones, 700 isn't enough to comfortably decorate inside AND outside.

The challenge to place the items as we wish can certainly be a challenge.

However, there should be an item cap. If it is where it should be to balance players needs and server load that is a different story.

But without question there should be a cap. There will be that person who loads a home with millions of items, just as an example.

I think knowing that I'm likely to hit a wall relatively soon if I started decorating is part of it, but I think it's more that the houses just don't feel like homes. Perhaps the limited storage being implemented will make a difference, but with so little being interactive they they feel dead. You can't set an apple down on a table and then pick it up and eat it. It's just wax. You can't "use" your bed. I rarely visit either the inn rooms or the house I bought furnished on the northern coast of Vvardenfell. The latter is very attractive, I think, but still inanimate.

I've hit the item limit trying to decorate just my medium Sleek Creek house with a few areas unfinished (and not having done anything as particular as decorating a whole library), and I know the issue of too much space and not enough items gets even worse with larger houses, especially since I personally enjoy a very cluttered and lived-in aesthetic, so I'm really unlikely to ever buy a larger house than Sleek Creek unless the furnishing slots increase!

Including the special furnishing items - I love the ability to have pets or mounts around with specific aesthetic purposes (a small guar herd, a nixhound infesting the larder, etc), and I'm already picking and choosing the ones I have to leave out. :(

I used the ESO+ free trial to fill up my Strident Spring Demense, with about 450/600 slots. I definitely needed more than 300 slots, but I'm not entirely sure what I'd do with the other 150 slots if the trial wasn't ending.

I learned this the hard way when I bought the big orc house that just came out. I had to cut off half the home to fill it in better.

With how large these homes are getting and the limit cap they are just not worth it. Even at 1000 slots it would be hard to fill them in.

But for store crown only houses it is also the price of them. So even if they trippled the itemcount I would not buy. For the in game gold houses anything bigger then medium is a no go for me due to itemcount as it will look to unfinished.

Houses being to dark and a tricky non precise placing tool are other things that hold me back.
