Please help me with my magNB, I don't want to abandon it

Hello guys,

I have really big problems with my magNB mostly because of Strife animation. It is really hard to weave Strife with light attacks (compared to flame lash or force pulse) but I learned it. My dps on target centurion with full group buffs is comparable to my magDK (46-48k).

But problems start when I enter trials, especially vMoL. I usually have lower FPS in trials so my dps is somewhat lower there.

But Flame Lash and all other magDK's spells are really easy to be weaved with light attacks, so even with lower FPS I am still able to do light attack weaving properly. My usual dps with magDK on Rakkat where my FPS is on lowest levels is 43k.

But my magNB is basically unplayable on vet Rakkat, and I am not exagerating. If I get 30k dps I am happy as no one. It's mostly because Strife have so idiotic animation. I miss like 8/10 light attacks when trying to weave Strife with LAs on lower FPS.
I am completely hopeless because my dps is entirely dependant on light attacks:
1. Assassin's Will proc - one per cast of Merciless Resolve at most, when my FPS drops down. Three on target centurion when my FPS is good.
2. Infused Flame staff on front bar with Elemental glyph - no glyph procs without light attacks as my only destro spell on front bar is Elemental Rage
3. Siphoning attacks - returning 106 magicka on light attacks, great. No LAs, no magicka.

Please help me here. I don't know if it's really unplayable and I should abandon my magNB at least for trials. Or is it just L2P issue.

I tried replacing Swallow Soul with Force Pulse. Weaving was much much better but the sustain issues were real and the NB gameplay wasn't fun anymore.

Thanks for any advices.

PS: In case anybody wonders, I am playing on all the lowest video settings and my PC specs are:
CPU - Intel Core i5, 4200u Haswell
GPU - AMD Radeon HD 8750m
RAM - 6 GB
I don't have any FPS problems in overworld, dungeons or VMA. I have FPS problems only in trials and Cyrodiil.

Have you lower your settings for trials?

I have all the video settings set to low, everything that can be off like shadows is off and all sliders are set to lowest. I have these settings everywhere. The only exception is subsampling quality which is set to high. But I tried to set it to medium or low, but noticed no difference in fps.

I can easily play my healer or my magDK and even light attack weave properly on lower FPS. It's just my magNB which I can't play thanks to bad Swallow Soul animation.

I forgot to add. I have FPS problems in trials, Cyrodiil and major cities when tons of players are there.

I must say weaving strife is indeed very buggy, light attacks often don't go off

That's the exaxtly reason why I stopped hardcore raiding as MagNb, game is unplayable in trials for me, and missing LA as Nb is deadly for dps. I don't wanna play as stam and hold LMB half of the rotation, because I find it boring. I play in potato mode with only raid notifier and srendarr, and 15-25 fps is max what I can get. My computer isn't greatest, but I am able to play newest games on ultra settings with 60 fps. Sad, but decent FPSes are half success of the good dps, and even more important on MagNbs.

You need to adjust your timing. Click slower, if you are clicking too fast you will cancel the light attack. Become a high elf & use force pulse or crushing shock, if you can figure out a way to sustain, it's better dps.

Strife has been bugged like this for ages, its terrible to weave it specially if you have high ping, try changing to force pulse and you gonna see the difference

Tried already. Weaving was a lot better, doable even on lower FPS.

I am running witchmother on Strife rotation. But even with that I can't sustain Force Pulse rotation. Maybe I'll switch one jewelry glyph to magicka recovery and see if it changes the wind's course.

I thought the video I saw for performing the rotation showed siphoning attacks + magic return poisons. Not sure if they were using witch mothers brew, but that would definitely help.
It wouldn't hurt to have someone in raid or in group standing beside you wearing worm cult.
As I thought worm cult was a pretty standard healer set. So if you're doing dps testing on a dummy target you should have someone there to simulate raid buffs.

@Olupajmibanan If you are going to switch a glyph to sustain, I would recommend magicka cost reduction over recovery. You will lose about 3% damage on all skills if you drop one spell power glyph though. I assume you are already using siphoning attacks.

Have you tried all the other options for more sustain?
    - Vampire gives 10% regen
    - Altmer gives 10% regen
    - Slotting a support skill (barrier, purge) gives 10% regen
    - Slotting a mages guild skill gives 2% regen (not much, but inner light is always useful and casting entropy or scalding rune can be used to empower assassins will)
    - Wear 6-7 pieces light armor for more regen and cost reduction
    - Absorb magicka glyph on infused weapon gives roughly 300 regen (Torug's Pact increases this further, but at higher cost to DPS)

Edit: A few more sustain suggestions that you may or may not already be doing
    - Make sure to use crafted potions, they provide more magicka than cheap potions and a longer 20% regen buff (major intellect)
    - Level alchemy for the passive to increase potion duration
    - Have a nearby sorcerer use empowered Ward or a warden healer use enchanted growth for 10% regen (minor intellect)

All those gaming technique changes and tweaks are useless if you have 15-20 fps. Find a way to increase it to 40-60fps and you will get twice dps with SAME rotation (provided that rotation is of any good). In your case, try to get new machine with i7 and at least 12 GB of RAM. This will fix all your issues. It has nothing to do with rotation. I was in the same position and this is based on my experience. They higher the fps you have, the higher is your dps with SAME actions.

But as I stated. I can play and actually play my magDK and templar healer without any problems. I am weaving light attacks between each skill even on low fps. And that's all because of DK spell animations.
I have problems only with NB. I can easily LA weave all skills except strife. Because Strife have so horrible animation time which is completely inconsistent with other spammables like flame lash, force pulse or puncturing sweeps. Well but I must admit, other players with super machines don't have these problems :-(

I probably live in the most corrupted country in Europe, where government would leave you naked and shaved in order to fill their pockets. A PC with i7 is not within my reach.
(We also had a poll this year questioning young people about staying in country. 80% voted "no way I am staying here", that tells everything I think)
