Now that I have your attention...

I completely quit playing this game about 5 months ago (Console, PS4 NA). Was thinking of playing again, but I wanted to ask...what is new, old, fixed, still broken, etc.?

Is it worth loading up again? Has anything really changed much in the past five months?

Thanks in advance for any input you may have!

Clockwork city update is coming soon. October 23 for PC, shortly after for console. It's bringing transmutation which sounds ok but the thing I'm most excited about is the overhaul to the servers that will make it run better on console and lower end pc's. The game is in a good place right now whether your mostly PvP or pve. Lots to do

If you have to ask, you likely won't stay very long if you do come back anyway. Old mindsets will take over.

Ah, there is the saltiness I remember from the forums. I guess you're right. We should never try to revisit old interests.

I guess I should ask if the Morrowind area is laggy and if it has interesting PvE content since I never purchased it and I sold all of my gear and gave away all of my mats and gold. So I would be most interested in the PvE content since I'll be starting over (sort of).

Since you've been away awhile, I'd say the better question you should ask yourself is: Did I like ESO and just got burnt out? Or did I just not enjoy the game anymore? Answer that, then come back After the november 7th Clockwork City update hits.

It was laggy when it first came out--but then everyone was doing it then. Now it's mostly just people dueling near Vivec city, and questers. Whenever I visit it doesn't feel laggy, cept near Vivec city wayshrine.

I haven't done it yet, but I hear people like it. There is a Telvanni personality that can be unlocked via a quest line. One of the Public dungeons has a costume you can get by collecting rare drops. Then there is the Shacklebreaker crafting station that has become very popular.

I am also on PS4 NA BTW

On-topic: why did you quit? Despite the forum's general malaise, a lot of things have changed. If you are mainly interested in the solo questing, Morrowind is great and will be worth picking up and playing through.

In regards to your question on Morrowind, it's a nice zone, and with trait gear starting a noob I got to level 22 finishing the whole zone. Some of the mechanics have changed...but I left shortly after retail and just came back after 2-2.5 years, and the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild content has kept me here so far...

I quit because the DLC stuff seemed too small for what I was paying, and the housing just felt superficial and empty, and PvP was still pretty laggy. Main reason I quit was that the game just felt like an endless compulsive grind. I found myself farming for hours and it didn't feel like I was playing a game.

I was hoping Morrowind would be better, but then they said it was not a DLC and that lost me. But I would consider playing again and even paying for the "expansion" if it's worth the money.

I mean look at my original post.

Literally nothing has changed that will make you say ooh this is fun again. Why you quit is the same deal. Morrowind is maybe 15 hours if you go slow, there are a few new dungeons and a new trial. PvP has not changed in any way.

People changed, as they always change, so if there is no change in the game, maybe you hop in and quit your former guilds and start with others, seek new friends. Then, maybe, you'll see some overall difference.

Thanks for the reply. I guess it's back to ... oh wait, we cannot mention other games on the forums.

Well I'm going to go play games none of you have every heard of... like Ballout 4, a game where you are locked inside a basketball court arena for years while the world rides out nuclear war...or Cattlewield 1, a first person shooter where you you and a buddy can ride cattle through the desert and take over green pastures.

    1. Housing is still superficial. It's a fun system if you have enough ingame gold (or crowns) to play with it for a bit, but it's pretty shallow at this point. I enjoy the housing, but don't really touch it more than once every couple of weeks (making haunted houses right now, for instance).
    2. PvP lag comes and goes. At the moment, it feels really good outside of the poplocked/main campaign, but lagspikes aren't uncommon in other campaigns either.
    3. Personally, I don't find this game very grindy--I'm curious what drove you to farm for long periods. I don't regear that often (and only 1-2 toons per patch) so that helps, but I don't feel a ton of grind in the game at the moment (at least not once character work is done on your main).
    4. If you don't enjoy the questy DLCs they don't really bring a lot to the table, I agree. The questing content is pretty good in morrowind, took me a good long time and I'm not nearly finished with it. Battlegrounds have potential, but are kinda frustrating in their implementation. There is a new trial in MWind if you are into that.

Honestly, if you have the time/money to spare I'd say pop back in and play through morrowind, give it another shot. Or even just jump back in and play around in base game, as there is no sub required. I'm hesitant to wholeheartedly recommend returning, but I've been playing on and off since beta, and I'm having tons of fun with the game as it currently stands.

    Lol.

Well I do. I enjoy doing dungeons with guild or pugs (just a good time chatting and killin things) I really enjoy PvP ( I avoid peak lag times). I am kinda looking forward to CP in BGs (more build ideas) and I enjoy BGs as is

I enjoy duels and small scale/solo pvp.

I avoid vet trials and massive PvP lag

I love theory crafting,. Just finished up a new build :)

If you manage to avoid lag, it can be a stellar experience. I also RP a bit to myself while questing

On a side note, be careful. RP to yourself too much and you'll go blind.
