just curious, i am bit confused, some said, "rollback", was that full server rollback or some selected accounts that are effected.
i think it should be okay to discuss what went down for, as it is almost done and ready to go back up, only just brief words.
while waiting, i just made fresh homemade chili with cut up fresh grown veggies and balanced seasonings.

I was running a new warden through grahtwood before the patch, near that little village where you have to work out who broke the green pact. There were so many bots in the little river valley just below that it was lagging the game. I'm talking a bot train of fifty plus all trying to kill the same bunch of cats. No way in hell were they getting xp, not spread over fifty for god sake.

I reported a few but more just kept turning up.

There's bots all over. Every damn where. Bots farmin mats, bots farmin exp. Just. all the bots.

Reporting them does NOTHING. it's pathetic.

I was accused of being a bot while I stood at a dolmen with my friend, waiting for it to respawn. We were just standing there chatting in whisper, and someone ran up to us and called us bots. Then today, just before the server went down, I was working on my Monster Hunter title, wherein I need to kill another 300+ ghosts to earn my title. So I was just running in circles outside of Davon's Watch, killing those ghosts because they are plentiful and respawn quickly. I wonder how many people thought I was a bot while i did nothing but continuously run around killing ghosts? All I'm saying is, I feel as though I'm back in Salem, and there is a witch hunt going on. I'm sure there are legitimate cases, but do you guys at least try to whisper these "bots" before you report them? Cause if not, you might be part of the problem as to why they pay little mind to bot reports. Because I am certainly not a bot, and if someone would take a second to whisper me, they would get something no BOT can produce, and that is a response to a whisper. Just a thought.

They don't ban based ONLY upon player opinion, they're going to look at you for repeditive behaviours (and no human movement is absolutely repeditive, even if you do the same thing over and over). The only reason to feel defensive about it is if you were actually botting/exploiting.

You should have a look at LoL policy, they insta ban you just for telling someone else to *** off in the general chat one time.

Good for them - I wish more games enforced some basic standards of behavior. Too many kids hide behind the "but it's got a mature rating" excuse for acting like jerks the whole time.

We don't know what the exploit is and zeni don't want to tell us-- there were rumors that guild banks were being highjacked with an authentication exploit, which would be widespread and mean a rollback. Given that Gina said it'd be about an hour and said nothing of a rollback, I think we're safe.

    I would hope so. lol
FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

What is the exploit please @ZOS_GinaBruno ?

Due to the nature of the exploit, we aren't able to divulge any details. That said, you can rest assured that we will be fixing it, and any accounts found to be abusing it will be taken care of.

That reasoning is entirely counterintuitive.... If you are fixing it, than why does it matter? Also, how would I or anyone else know they are doing something "wrong"if you don't clearly state WHAT IT IS THEY ARE DOING WRONG? You people cloak rules under a grey umbrella of "exploit" yet it's up to us to figure WHAT IS AN EXPLOIT, and what's intended? Please just be transparent with us, the people majing your pay check possible... Or do you want more people dropping subscriptions on you?

Very well said! I couldn't agree more! I have been a paid subscriber since launch, and I feel more and more like a piece of garbage that is lucky to have the ability to play the game in which I PAY TO PLAY. Major issues continue for months without being fixed, but then as soon as someone "exploits" one of their own malfunctions, they take the servers down immediately. But God forbid they actually FIX something with that much conviction.

    Bye

Im sorry, did I say I was leaving?

Just giving you a way of not feeling like "a piece of garbage". Why torture yourself

Because I'm glutton for punishment. Why else would I still be here after years of subbing tickets for repairs, helping the community, and dealing with the multitudes of issues that surround this game, and have since launch?

It's ok. This can be a good place to chat in the meantime.

As "this is a good place to chat" and also there is a little time while fixing is underway I have 2 questions on Master Writs.

Although there was no ZOS announcement in patch notes or similar we see since HoR that Master Writs received now include Morrowind crafting stations and now the (non Crown Store) Motifs up to and incuding Morrowind.
    1. Has the list of qualifying Motifs for Writ drop improvement also increased to include these same Motifs up to Morrowind?
    2. If it has then have you also added in Furnishing Plans/Master Furnisher Achievement as Qualifying for Writ drop improvement too?

    1. Yes, we added new Motifs to increase Writ drop chances with this latest update.
    2. We have not yet incorporated this.
    3. We'll do a better job at messaging changes like this in the future. :)

Thank you very much Gina for this clarification it is nice to know for sure.
As we still have some time could you please comment on this following point,

w.r.t the Writ Drop Improvement qualifying achievements prior to HoR I have 8 characters for top level writs.
None of them know Mythical Ambrosia Recipe and 6 of them do not have Soul Shriven
But they all know everything else.

After many many months of doing top level writs daily it shows that the characters had a significantly improved Master Writ drop rate when they knew less than they do now.

With other achievements learnt and at about 60% of Motifs learnt there is a sweet spot of a good drop rate. This is supported by other Writ enthusiasts I know.

What I am expecting is a Linear improvement to the Master Writ drop chance but it seems that the drop chance reduces as you get to complete the achievements near to the max available.

    1. Is the drop chance intended as a linear improvement? If not what then.
    2. Are harder to complete achievements weighted higher than easier ones?
For example Psijic Ambrosia Recipe vs the Mythical Ambrosia Recipe

    Thanks in advance :)

No, it's what we call exploits. Things that can destroy the economy when abused, generally speaking. Kind of showed your hand there, fella.

Bugs happen mate. If it is a serious bug the they should fix as soon as possible. Might not be the best time for me but I would rather they fix it and be done, than have issues later on. Also ALL games will fix a bug that is being exploited giving others an advantage above other players. Hence the term exploit...

I wasn't defensive at all, but I do wonder how you finger pointers can know someone is indeed botting BEFORE you waste ZOS's time with a bot report. I can guarantee you that I will NEVER be banned for doing it (not only because I lack the skill, but because I WORK for what I want). I merely want to be sure you actually put forth EFFORT before wasting someones time because "they got the node before me" or something dumb like that.

Yes but I am an owner of the digital collector's edition of the original release and Mirrorwind, when I do play I am always ESOplus, So in my logic already paying monthly and getting CE I now have to pay for all of the DLCs for little extras, just doesn't seem right. I'll just save up my monthly crowns to buy them.

Well that sounds a bit backwards to me, because it eliminates a lot of the value of subbers getting the DLC. If madgar is correct there, then it's a valid complaint-- not one I care about, but valid.
