Just because you want or don't want something doesn't mean all players do.
For example none of the items you mentioned appeal to me, but some of the currently available ones have done.
I'm not against more choices, I am not sure what breeds of dog the TES series has which are lore friendly, but yeah just because they're things you want it doesn't mean we all do.
Why won't Zenimax put the more desirable animals in the store? Since the store began we get lesser animals like goats and other non "cool" ones. Where are the hawks, wolves, owls, and perhaps tougher dog breeds like a German shepard or Doberman. I mean these types would sell. With morrowwind we got that flying reptile so I know they can handle a simple hawk. Anyone else wish they would quit fooling around with pigs and goats and get to stuff players would actually want?

I'm sorry I offended you and didn't mean for them to take away your goats or what have you in place of my wants. I see you mentioned twice that all players don't want what I'd like to see so obviously I touched a nerve. I honestly don't see alot of pigs roaming behind people or goats for that matter. As a paying customer of ESO for 3 years it would be nice to have some more variety and not just a recolored pig or some other critter that an adventurer wouldn't have tagging along with them. If that's what you want, fine, but add more types for everyone.
For something I thought would be a light hearted thread for more animal additions for the adventuring type has obviously upset the first person to reply and an "ambassador" at that. . No wonder I try not to post of these forums much.
Although I do love my goat, I agree we could use more pets suitable for warriors and mages. I like some of the current ones but most of them are too small for my liking.

You read @Turelus post in the wrong tone then. He wasn't trying to waggle his finger or sound obnoxious, just basically pointing out that everyone likes different things and that not everyone will be happy with the current selection
Personally, I'm pretty much indifferent to the issue since I don't use any of these, but I'm all for having more options for other people as long as they're at least semi lore friendly

But they do try to add animals that would appeal to different tastes. For a while there was a "haj mota" turtle in the store that was extremely cool-looking. It was this one: https://eso.mmo-fashion.com/haj-mota-hatchling/
And I've seen other cool stuff before, too.
@Stovahkiin You tags, I posts. Also to be fair I was being a little obnoxious.Stovahkiin wrote: »You read Turelus post in the wrong tone then. He wasn't trying to waggle his finger or sound obnoxious.
Very likely, but here's why. Then he too read into mine and took it in the wrong tone.
Those lines are all coming off my likes are better than you likes, I mean you outright write that the current selection is non cool. Why won't Zenimax put the more desirable animals in the store? So why not just make a thread saying this to start with, rather than telling everyone that things are non cool and that ZOS needs to stop fooling around with stuff players apparently don't want (yet seem very happy buying and using). Some of my coworkers who play the game are always like man why'd they add a pig or other animal. We cann't understand why they leave out the most basic of hunting type creatures. I get it, some folks like those and that's perfectly fine but it would be nice to see some more "adventuring" animals.
Not offended in any way, just trying to state that your perceptions of what's desirable and cool don't account for everyone.I'm sorry I offended you and didn't mean for them to take away your goats or what have you in place of my wants.
No nerves touched, just bad posting habits on my part. I actually realised I had repeated myself on submission but couldn't be bothered to edit.I see you mentioned twice that all players don't want what I'd like to see so obviously I touched a nerve.
I am fine with new types and variety, but with that comes the cost of dev time that the rest of the forums would be screaming is being wasted on stupid new pets for "ZO$".As a paying customer of ESO for 3 years it would be nice to have some more variety and not just a recolored pig or some other critter that an adventurer wouldn't have tagging along with them. If you wanted a light hearted thread try not to come in an start telling people things are not cool and that ZOS is fooling around because it comes off badly. For something I thought would be a light hearted thread for more animal additions for the adventuring type
Not upset at all, just disagree with your statement and voiced an opinion which my status as ambassador doesn't stop me from doing, it's just a recognition of being helpful in the community.has obviously upset the first person to reply and an "ambassador" at that.
I would come to the forums and post more.No wonder I try not to post of these forums much.

You point to pigs and goats as non cool pets but ignore the Dwemer constructs, big cats, Daedra and other more intimidating pet options. I mean we also basically already have Drizzt's companion of choice in the game as you bought him up.So why not just make a thread saying this to start with, rather than telling everyone that things are non cool and that ZOS needs to stop fooling around with stuff players apparently don't want (yet seem very happy buying and using). Some of my coworkers who play the game are always like man why'd they add a pig or other animal. They've been good at adding new pet variants however they tend to try and release things themed, meaning the pets you're after may be held back for a more Bosmer themed release.
Also what's to say that an adventurer wouldn't have any of these with them?If you wanted a light hearted thread try not to come in an start telling people things are not cool and that ZOS is fooling around because it comes off badly. For something I thought would be a light hearted thread for more animal additions for the adventuring typeNot upset at all, just disagree with your statement and voiced an opinion which my status as ambassador doesn't stop me from doing, it's just a recognition of being helpful in the community.has obviously upset the first person to reply and an "ambassador" at that.I would come to the forums and post more.No wonder I try not to post of these forums much.
The forums are a great place and although there are opinionated people who will debate you it can be refreshing to have a good back and forth at times, then on top of that you have the amazing things one can learn about the games on the forums.
Just because someone disagreed with you does not mean they're upset or angry or having a go at you. It's simply a different opinion.
Also I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet but some people really like those "boring" pets. For example before the goats were released some people had an on-going campaign to persuade ZOS to release them, including making their own music video to promote the idea:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVvg3Y1QkWg
Asking for tougher dog breeds also seems odd when the one currently in the crown store is a bear-dog. That's exactly what it sounds like - it's a dog bred and trained to fight bears. In terms of toughness I'd say that's a step up from a sheepdog.
First off I can take a disagreement. No problem there. What I don't like is someone reiterating things in the same post like they're talking to a child. A person only has to say it once for me to catch their drift. I'm fine with us agreeing to disagree. Unfortunatly in posts, like texts, people can read more into them that in normal conversation would never be the case. That's what I feel happened to both of us above.
Hey I'm fine with people liking whatever pets they want to like. Everyone has their own version of "cool" and some are pretty adamant about their choice. You're a paying a customer like I am so if someone want's to run around with poodle I could care less. As a more RP'd old school player I like to keep myself immersed in the world and I could do that better if I had a selection of animals that fit my characters theme.
I'm all for more variety of pets and a hawk (or other bird of prey) would be perfect for one of my characters, but complaining about the pets we've already got and declaring that no one wants them isn't a great way to make your case.
I think part of the issue Zardayne is that if you've not been around the forums you probably haven't seen how a lot of threads start with people talking down others.
Granted I could have been less of a jerk in my initial reply and you have my apologies for that, I have just seen so many post like yours which were not meant with good intent I've become jaded and cynical and treat them all that way.
For what it's worth I do agree with you and your ideas for pets would be great additions for the game, however ZOS works in weird ways and don't seem to follow the common "this is what players want" logic when releasing such items.
I hope this thread hasn't put you off the forums as what I said in my reply was true, although the forums can be a lot of debate (even when not warranted) it's a great part of the game and has a good selection of posters.
Just wanted to mention that the dog doesn't bark any more (thank goodness). It was annoying so many people that they ended up taking away the constant barking sounds. I did the exact same thing your friend did until they stopped the barking. It still digs, though, but that's much less annoying.A friend of mine purchased the bear dog. He said it was so annoying he shelved it. He said he's constantly digging and barking driving him nuts. I figured I'd pass on that one even though I almost got it at one point. Not only that but he's more of a bear cub dog.

That's good to know about the bear dog's barking being eliminated. It might be worth purchasing then.
Speaking of goats, man I was reading some dumb article before heading to bed tonight about animals attacking and I ran into this picture and I started cracking up. I just had to share. Now I know why you guys are into the goat..pretty vicious..
