Puuuh... Ice Furnace is a heavy set and therefor comes only in health jewels, right?

What do you want it for, PvP i think?

I haven't gotten to deep into the new class but some fundamentals I used on my hybrid sorc was:

1) be sure to chose Dunmer for additional stamina and magicka
2) robust willpower or arcan agility jewls
3) if you don't use vMA weapons, you can use 2 piece of leki or torug to boost your weapon/ spell dmg further
4) Tri stat food and Prismatic Glyphs

With that you can easily achieve around 20k health, 28k mag and 25k stam 3.2-3.3 weapon and spell dmg. But your recovery will suck. This does not include any buffs from warden skills but major brutality/sorcery, weapon dmg glyph proc and full Wrath.

Force pulse and L/Heavy frost staff attacks. That's it. And that's why the set is awful.

I was under the impression the first damage done by a dot counts for many such things. I however have no means to test yet.

There is also clench, and typically damage done by proc sets can count i.e. Winterborn.

I still probably wouldn't use this particular set, however it's an interesting idea

Does it proc off weapon enchants? Like if you had a sword with a icey enchantment?

Bad set is bad.
