There was this level 20 odd NB, walking around just beating the *** out of everyone else. Decided to give it a try and got my ass handed to be about 7 times, and I'm Champion 100. How's this possible?

You are bad at Elder Scrolls online, or CP.
But if you mention CP, then there will be a CHORUS of fanboi's who cite every possible reason from the sky is yellow, to the sun is blue to peppermint is a communist plot to over throw good sense.
But its the CP, a flawed system perpetuated by a disengaged development team that has to much vested into said system to ever do a mia culpa and say "yep its the CP system"
[snip]
It's because battle levelling and cp can make for some stupid strong builds if you build right. No joke, you can make a mid 30s character that can spank most cp 600 players.

I wonder what would happened if I took a video of my lvl 6 killing a destro spamming CP168. I was very funny to put the beat down on the destro ult spamming [insert comment here]. He swore I was cheating. But in fact he was just a lacklustering player in all areas of the game, even after trying to kill my lvl 6 with a EoTS.

3. A good player on a level 20 is more dangerous than a bad player on a much more powerful (on paper) character.
Probably some combination of those 3 things--CP, gear, and player skill.

His main is probably a CP600 which means he has 600 CP stacked on that innocent looking level 20.There was this level 20 odd NB, walking around just beating the *** out of everyone else. Decided to give it a try and got my ass handed to be about 7 times, and I'm Champion 100. How's this possible?
Because of the way new characters are automatically buffed to lvl 50 until they reach that level themselves since One Tamriel, they are pretty tanky in the beginning and can deal quite some damage as well. I noticed that when I created my Khajiit. His base stats were higher than my lvl 50's DK base stats were, especially when I put all the DK's attributes in one resource. In theory, a new lvl 1 character should be as powerful as he'd be on lvl 50.
