Why do adults still play PC games on consoles?

Why do adults think rp'ing is how you play ESO "the right way?" The same adults that cry about animation cancelling being cheating because they can't do it.

Dude, I can hit you with three arrows simultaneously before you have chance to pull your sword.

Go ahead. Make assumptions about older folks and their animation cancelling skills. I'll have you dead, and you'll still be wondering what hit you.

Dude, I wasn't even talking about you, but sure.

Because nothing says, "maturity," quite like unprovoked threats of violence.

Okay, this cracks me up. For nearly a month, we've been seeing threads from people going, "but, I play on consoles, why can't I get into the closed beta?" Coupled with cries of, "it's not fair," "it's so unfair," and, "where are my pants?"

So, ZOS apparently decided, "okay, you play on consoles, you might have a PC that can run the game, let's get your input."

...and then we get these threads.

Although, if you don't own the PC version (You won't have the launcher) so I don't think you can play...

Again, difference between PC and Consoles. We don't get the attention that you do, because we're a small user base. I've used computers since the 70s. I know them well. If it was just me, yeah, I'd say there's a glitch in my PS4. But it's not just me. The issues are spread across the console community.

Not sure why you say "Again", as I am not disputing anything or implying someone is incorrect about anything.

Consoles use both a CPU and Ram still, and are subject to troubles of heating and memory leaks as any normal PC is.

I freely admitted that I do not know the difference in the compiled code used on the console versus on the PC, as I would expect it to not be exactly the same as to have the same MD5 string.

Consoles need to start including diagnostic tools that users can use to monitor things like heat, memory usage, and data usage etc. would go a long way.

Actually, yeah, you can. You can download the launcher, and either build of the game (live & PTS) from the website. What you can't do is log onto the live servers without a PC account. I assume you can log into the PTS servers from a console account, since the entire thing is technically linked, though if you've been making alt console accounts, that might not work quite right.

I have the same issues on PS4. I will disconnect pretty much every day, occasionally I will dc a few times in an hour. Lag in PvE zones has been worse than ever. I won't mention the Cyrodiil lag because that's been bad for a long time. I have animation glitches when using skills. Jump off my horse to use a door and the character will mount again. Seems to be worse than ever since Homestead. I gave up hope of Zos fixing the game a long time ago so quit my subscription. After Homestead i stopped buying crowns too because selling stuff seems to be all that matters to Zos now. And that's also why I refuse to buy Morrowind. I will throw money at a game if I'm having fun but Zos is peddling frustration these days.

Looking at some of the things mentioned here...

Most of the time, if things get worse the longer you play, it typically indicates a potential heating problem.

Another issue that shows up from prolonged play is memory leaks. This causes an inordinate amount of RAM usage. I am unsure of the actual client differences between the PC and console versions, so I am unable to really say this IS for sure a cause.

I stand 100% corrected that you can download the launcher without owning the PC version and install the PTS (I just did it). No idea how you get to that launcher page without the direct link but I am sure other console players will appreciate this post. Thanks @starkerealm

You had 4 button skill bars before ESO on consoles was even a thing. Also, I'd be willing to bet the console market is quite a bit larger than the PC market for ESO.

It's on your account page. From the bar at the top of this screen, the one you're looking at right now, click account, log in (if necessary), then you should see a summary of your current account status, and the ability to do things like change your password or view your purchase history. In the lower right hand corner of the screen, there's an option to download the game.

Getting back on topic, I also play on ps4 and the performance since homestead has been terrible. With all of the animations and pets from the warden I have a feeling its gonna get much worse with Morrowind. I'm on my last month of ESO+ and plan on waiting on reviews before i get Morrowind. Just cant see spending anymore until they start addressing the performance issues.

Well, it doesn't show the download button on my Account page in the bottom right. It shows my original Beta access to ESO, my PS4 ESO access and that's it.

If I do Billing History tab then it shows: 4/24/2017 Morrowind® Closed Beta - ********************

You can download the PTS through the link you provided but when I go to log in with my Account that is linked to my PSN and this forum account it does not work...

In your expert opinion eso pc has 4 buttons because it's just good game design and they just pulled the idea for console ports from thin air. That's what you're saying?

Many console players also have PCs, including original PC-based accounts, and are therefore able to use the PTS. It's right that console players should be invited, even if they can't all participate.

As for performance, it does sound like you have some serious system issues. Maybe it's just the console version, but what you describe doesn't sound like a typical experience or there'd be nobody left playing. Blue screens are usually hardware related, not software-related - at least on PC, I have no personal knowledge of consoles.

It's a waste of a code which is fact in those scenarios. My guess is fewer people see it fewer people know it's guano.
