What are your thoughts on the Eternal Hunt set?

I recently tried this set out the other day. I've seen plenty of untalented players use this set offensively, and I just find it to be comical.

With that said however I noticed when used strategically I could dictate my opponent's movements with my rune placement. It was also nice that I was able to dodge roll, and not have it be a waste of stamina.

So what are your thoughts? This set has made my eyes roll in the past, but I'm thinking there might actually be some potential with it.

It was a good set before homestead bro, now there are better options, better off with bone pirate tatters. I used it with viper bloodspawn, 2h n bow on a stamblade, eternal bow, viper 2h. It WAS amazing. Now with changes to sets and other stuff it sucks and I have deconstructed all my yellow eternal. No good player uses it anymore.

Lol, EH is still considered BiS by most of the top stamblades.

It's a hard counter to gap closer spam and insanely useful in Imperial City because of all the tight quarters. It's not BIS by any measure but it's a really fun gimmick and was actually really deadly when it could crit.

I personally like it mainly for gap closer spammers. Especially on my nightblade. Every time they gap close I roll and continue. It just cheesy lol. You can use if offensively by lets say Incap then stand right on their body then dodge. They will get hit everytime. Does OK damage(got hit with proc set nerf) but I still like mine. Even pushed it to see what kind of regen build I could get. As a khajiit nightblade with 3 endurance 5 eternal Bloodspawn and Maelstrom all regen enchants with continuous attack I was at 5350 stam recovery. Hit like a noodle but funny. This made it almost impossible to run out of stam. So I just dodge rolled people to death lmao. That and new fear circles made tree running amazing. Tried to find a good video that was posted on here a little while ago but can't find it.

The damage from the rune is meh, but it does seem decent for crowd control, and it's around an 8% damage loss, but the extra regen is nice as well. I'm just trying to make dodge rolling a viable option still.

Try bone pirate with magicka regen n health or mag regen n Stam regen it's really good

Why would you deem someone using roll dodge offensively as untalented? Although this set really shines with crowd control, the offensive side of it can lead to some really nice results.
It offer's for great crown control, especially paired with Rearming Trap and that can be used in connection with Shadowy Disguise -> Burst to turn fights around in tight spaces (sewers etc.)
Also, you know how you animation cancel stuff with roll dodge? Well, that's another real nice use for it, just take the basic combo of Heavy Attack -> Incap and add a roll dodge to it instead of an execute, which also frees up a global. Just an example. If you expand on that you can get some pretty sick stuff going on with that rune. Fearing immobilized people is also pretty good as a side note.
The kiting potential of this set is through the roof when paired with Shadow Image and a few rocks to run around.

I still think that its a great set. There are better proc sets for dealing damage for sure, but none offer as much utility and offensive/defensive options as Eternal Hunt.

You could argue that Bone Pirate is better. Of course it is. But why not combine the two and slap on some vMA 2H and a Master's Bow?

I'm talking about the guys that Ambush you, and then spam dodge roll repeatedly in hopes that you'll pursue them. I'm talking about the guys that dodge roll more than they attack. Those are the untalented ones I speak of. I find way more of those kind than the kind that actually use the set intelligently.

EH is beast. It's relieves so much pressure on you allowing you to cloak more effectively since cloak is horrible now. What's makes it so strong on stamblades is nightblade is all about control so if you can control the fight your survivability goes way up.

Btw @IzakiBrotherSs thanks for the root + Mass Hysteria combo example. It's that kind of thinking that makes me feel like this set has good potential in the right hands.

I noticed this as well when I tried it; which made this set quite appealing to me. I was just so used to seeing bad players use it that it detoured me from using it.

Oooooh THOSE guys. Yeah. That's kinda what gives this set a bad reputation lol. No point in roll dodging all the time unless you're using the good old Senche+Eternal setup, which isn't exactly that great IMO as you don't always have consistent heals/burst.

Hehe yeah, there's plenty of stuff that you can come up with when using this set. Some really good potential for theory crafting.
Also with Eternal Hunt, you can drop Shuffle entirely and have a free skill slot for something else, but Shadow Image is a must. Basically, because you have such good crowd control you can afford to drop the snare immunity.

It really does have some great potential!

Good medium set. Use rearming trap with it and enjoy the hatemail. Using EH/morag tong on my dk and i dont get nuked instantly. Still has the curse of med/light with being a 3 button combo for stam sorcs but if you dont get imploded you can actually peel and heal.

Both Hexys and Crescent run 5EH/5Viper/2selene or veli

Sure, you can run bone pirate for bonus stam but stamblades already have such great burst you don't need the additional stam. Having EH rune for more control (control = survivability, you know, that thing every stamblade complains they lack right now) is worlds ahead of a minor damage increase.
