Is Warden the real reason for the Ice Stave change?

Question is in the title regarding Ice stave changes. It's forthcoming new ability use on the current 4 classes is highly arguable as we have seen. We don't have access to Warden Skill tree's yet of course hence my question. I was not in the alpha so never had a chance to get any type of idea of Warden skills as they were back then. I'm sure it's changed wholesale in any case.

Am I the only one that is thinking Ice staves might synergize with the Warden class moreso than current classes?

Warden was the first thing that some of us thought of after reading of the changes to Frost Staves. With a new Class that features (at least to some extent) Frost/Ice based skills the Frost Staff changes might actually synergise a bit better. As it is now the Frost Staff looks a little awkward with the current game options.

I'd say it was definitely part of the reason. Would be a pretty big coincidence if it wasn't.

Let's just call the Frost Staff change a "segue" into the Warden class. It was a smart move on Zeni's part. So, for those of you who are interested in tanking the Warden class- start practicing with your ice staves!

I wasn't the only one who noticed the warden in the ad throwing up a big ice wall as a shield, and the giant bear soaking damage?

Yeah I think it's safe to say wardens will be a tanky class.

There's a lot of the old warden abilities still in the game, NPCs use them, lots of clues to how they'll play.

Without question. However, even though the warden looks wicked fun. I still do not believe it will be an optimal tanking setup
