    Thunderbug's Carpace set
(2 items) Adds 1935 Physical Resistance
(3 items) Adds 1935 Spell Resistance
(4 items) Adds 129 Spell Damage

Was one of these what you were talking about?

    Edit:

I found it. Its a trial set.

    Defending Warrior
(2 items) Adds 1935 Spell Resistance
(3 items) Adds 1935 Physical Resistance
(4 items) Adds 1604 Maximum Health
(5 items) When you block an attack, you deal 4000 Magic Damage to all enemies within 10 meters of you and heal for 100% of the damage done. This effect can occur once every 10 seconds.

I'm honestly surprised you don't see many block builds using these sets in cryodill. They sound pretty awesome. Especially Thunderbug.

Ive been toying with an idea with the jolting arms set and power slam 1h+S morph. The power slam is charged by blocking an attack and if used with a regular bash with jolting active it could do alot of damage. Could work a LA-power bash-bash combo. Similar to a la-ransack-bash only mush stronger.......

I run into a lot of these "survivor" builds out in Cyrodiil. Not a single damage ability on their bars, just out there to survive and watch allies kill people. Definitely not something I'd enjoy doing, but to each his own.

PvE: I love all of these sets and I swap around experimenting with different combinations a lot. All of them are fun.

PvP: I have yet to find a combination that works in the fast pace-skirmish style fighting of Cyridil.

If I'm recalling it right, the Draugr's Heritage Set is the only place I can find a skull-headed staff (other than those random fire staves I have on occasion stolen from found in the apothecary in Vulkel Guard).

I have such a stave - a CP 70 one back from the dawn of time. running around like a crazy person I did find some mention of it in discussions:

    Draugr's Heritage Set
    Zymel Hriz (storm atronarch)
    - drops a staff for this set
    - can be found in 4th zone of each area (Alik'r Desert, Malabal Tor, Eastmarch)

But that's from a conversation over a year old.

anyone found one recently? Any suggestions? With all the farming for skulls I would hope to have someone get lucky and be willing to sell one. Maybe.

Is it just a skull-headed staff you're after or the set? Because master frost staves have skulls, too.

I know it's a necro, but I hate starting a new thread when there is already a topic related/relevant.

I'm not sure what a "master" frost staff is, and sorta yes it's a skull-headed staff I'm looking for, but despite my desire to create a certain type/look for my little Goblin Girl, I do want to work to find a good build (or try to create one), which means a set, which likely means I need to come up with something that uses Draugr's Heritage.

So you'll see me farming dolmens in the Rift....

I'm gonna guess no because it says "direct" AoE attack and the buff would probably constitute an indirect or secondary effect.

But maybe someone has played with it and knows

Hmmm. It might. Varen's doesn't seem to buff ground-based attacks, so it would depend on how the aoe effect was coded. For example, Deep Breath is buffed but Ash Cloud is not.

    DragonStar Arena...?

    The &$%@-hole of madness?

Not any time soon, unless one of my "A-team" gets it by accident (and if its vet, that will be about 5 more years).

So.. the completely unrealistic and not at all end-game-material Goblin Build.

I will say that I originally (back in the first clueless month of rolling her up years [really] ago, I pictured her with a poison-laced bow and a skull-headed staff.

I’m not up to Dragonstar (on any character) yet, so that leaves the Draugr Heritage set.

I note that there is a Healing Staff dropped by Nomeg Rine in the Frozen ruins, but I don’t know if it’s a skull staff. That would be cool. It’s intricate, but I could (eventually) change that. I did get a skull headed Staff from Zymel Hriz at dolmens in the Rift; I think it’s a lightning staff, but I’m not sure.

There’s also a Bow dropped by Longstride and Thickpelt in the Giant camp. I’d rather not do heavy Armor for her (she’s more suited to a medium or maybe a light build), so that would mean also using Jewelry….

Lastly there’s a Necklace that drops from Uggrek the Vile at Fort Greenwood.

So… in theory I could do this. Maybe.

I’m mostly just playing around, so if I was going for StamSorc, there are only a few Templar abilities that use stamina:
Puncturing Sweep, which increases Weapon Critical (so that would go on the Bow Bar)
Blinding Javelin, which knocks back, also kinda handy for the Bow Bar
Power of the Light Reduces Physical and Spell resistance, could go anywhere.
Restoring Light doesn’t have stamina abilities per se, but does have Repentance that consumes corpses and restores some of every stat.

Undaunted Trapping Webs and both its morphs are stamina based; not really sure which morph I prefer (haven’t worked with them much).
Bone Shield is stamina based, but it scales off of health, so it’s more tanky.
Expert Hunter might be interesting; put onto the Bow Bar.
Circle of Protection might be useful if being overwhelmed by a pack of Daedra, Werewolves or Undead; probably not useful as a “usual” skill, but something to work up to slot/use when needed.

She’s mostly used medium armor, and that’s fine for stamina, meaning she could use Shuffle (I love being able to remove snares).

There are a LOT of good bow abilities. I tend to look for heals, interrupts and distance. So Draining Shot, Bombard and Focused Aim all look good. Toxic Barrage is a nice looking Ultimate (never worked with it). Poison and a DoT….nummy.

Staff abilities…well this is harder for a mostly Stamina Based critter. Looks like Weakness to Elements does not actually have a cost, which is a good thing. The morph seems to depend a lot on if I want to buff magic users in my group, vs keep the duration going. Or heck, I don’t HAVE to morph it.
The destro staff Ulti is fantastic. The other ability that would be handy would be wall of elements; the potential secondary effects are kinda nice too.

    TL;DR:

So tentative Goblin Build (in no particular order):

Bow Bar: Puncturing Sweep, Blinding Javelin, Expert Hunter, Draining Shot, Focused Aim and the Bow Ulti

Staff Bar: Power of the Light, Restoring Light, Trapping Webs, Circle of Protection or Shuffle, Weakness to Elements and the Destro Staff Ulti.

I am planning on running Night's Terror and Way of Fire on my Stam DK in PVP. 2K poison damage every second to melee attackers and 20% chance at 4K fire damage whenever I use a weapon ability, plus an increased damage to poison effects and burning effects from the DK.

I especially like the Night Terror set because it should proc with every melee attack.

This means that I can use the Hallowjack motif for most of her garb, which is really nice, and the helm will either be covered by "Pumpkin Spectre Mask" (the original from last year) or heck, maybe she'll let "Chudan's head" show, after all she loves weird hats.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis
