Reminds me of the recent crown sale. They couldn't offer it on all platforms at the same time so they offered it on two, pissing off the third. The two who got it wouldn't have known or cared if they hadn't gotten it until it could be offered on all three. Dumb.
Now a hotfix is another issue and usually (as in had better be) a potentially serious destabilizing matter. Fine.
But the reason you perform patches on a Monday is so that you can deal with what the patch may have broken during the lowest traffic time of the week. It's poor judgement to combine the two during the highest traffic time of the week.
Finally, it's no way to treat your employees. It signals something amiss with the organization itself.
Not a customer confidence builder.
Quit complaining people, instead look at it this way... We will now (possibly) be able to play through until the 21st of November without any more downtime.

lol it's because I had to work today! Good to know that I'm not missing out

You must not work for a living.
I get the weekend to play, period.
They are taking 6 hours away from me.
Why don't you just not play all of Monday (show some solidarity and don't complain) ... then maybe you will understand.

Other games roll out whole expansions in the time frame you need for a small hotfix.
Utterly disappointing.

I think it's funny that someone with a 9-5 job, 5 days a week does not understand there is people working weekends, night shifts, shift rotations and trying to make the best out of whatever scattered free time they get. This 'making the best out of things' including to not get overly upset about something like a game downtime.

You absolutly misunterstood my comment. Of course there will be people who profit from this, but most won't. I was just trying to say that most people will not care about the argument "Well at least servers are up on Monday" because it's not going to help them much.

Did I? cause frankly, for me bundling these downtimes means i get to play on monday before i go to work. so see? working folks actually profit from this. at least this one does.

I do understand the difference between the 2 days.
However, my hubby works 12 hour shifts (6PM- 6AM) , 5 days a week. he is a ESO+ member, and this is one of his days off of work.
Do you know what he is doing right now? Trolling the Destiny forums and playing Destiny on Xbox One.
Maybe the rest of you should find an alternative game to play also so when this game goes down, you have something to fill the gap.
So you don't feel like you have wasted your "off time".....
