I don't mind the maintenance. My in-laws are coming to visit so my day is ruined anyway. It usually means they come within the next 1 hour and leave probable within 12 hours. Talking about suffering.

I don't usually question the ZOS patching regime, after all they have to patch at some point and can't please all of the people all of the time. But as business decisions go, patching on a Saturday is a very peculiar one.

7:00pm till 1:00am for Oceanics on a Saturday evening for maintenance, this is without a doubt the worst decision Zos has ever made regarding downtime scheduling lol.

Agreed. Don't understand why they couldn't push it 4 hours further along...

I tend to schedule my days ahead to accommodate some time to playing ESO based on predicted maintenance times and guesswork length of downtime.

If ESO needs fixing NOW and it just happens to be a Saturday then that's tough on all of us that is concerned about it but Saturday is just another day to me. Right now, it may as well be Tuesday 11.00 GMT.

Can't please all the people all the time.

Wow, ZOS, could we get a little more information about this oh-so-essential hotfix that requires 6 hours to deploy and can't wait 2 days? If there's a good reason, I don't mind waiting, but right now, this has a distinctive odour. Considering their recent track record (maintenance running over schedule, broken patches, emergency maintenance to fix the maintenance...) then why on earth are they attempting their weekly patch during peak hours for a massive portion of their player base?

Seriously, ZOS, release a statement to explain to people, because what the hell is going on in your offices?

That is the dumbest reasoning I have ever heard tbh, sure publish the hotfix but to negate play time on a weekend because you're too lazy to follow your schedule and do patch maintenance that's just stupid.

Really ZOS? Is that your quality management - to "make a little hotfix" and shut down EU server for 6 hours? In a weekend? And I'm really happythat I will have the possibility to enjoy the absense of maintenance on Monday while I will be working all day long.

Maybe you should hire some russian/chinese/indian guys in your tech service team if you're unable to provide the appropriate server maintenance?

Glad to hear that the great unemployed masses can shrug their shoulders at Saturday being just another day, but for the majority of the World that are neither working or going to school/college on a weekend, a Saturday maintenance is more of an inconvenience.

You can't please all the people all the time, but there is also no need to irritate most of the people by having a 6 hour patch (yeah, right...) in the middle of one of their two days off.

I think most of us located in Europe (and surely Aus/NZ) would honestly prefer small hotfix now with minimal downtime and normal maintenance on Monday, rather than taking the server down for several hours during the day/(evening for some) on Saturday for an incremental patch.

I work all week, now I can't even play??!?!?

What are the patch notes for this? They are not up yet.

    Hi everyone,

We have discovered an issue that requires us to publish a small hotfix on all platforms which will begin tomorrow, November 12 at 4:00am EST / 9:00 UTC. As we were already in the process of prepping for the next PC incremental patch, we will also be publishing PC patch v2.6.9 during this downtime (due to this maintenance, we will not be having our regularly-scheduled PC maintenance on Monday, November 14).

We’re currently estimating console downtime to be approximately 4 hours, and PC/Mac downtime to be closer to 6 hours. We’ll update the banner at the top of the forum as each maintenance is complete, and will publish the PC patch notes during tomorrow's maintenance.

    Thanks for your patience!

It look like it was a 'small hotfix' but they'be decided to do it along with Monday's incremental patch (hence the 6 hour downtime for a hotfix!). I've no idea why the hotfix could wait until Monday!

Since downtime starts at 09:00 GMT for us Brits, that's Saturday pretty much wiped out; it just seems a totally bizarre decision (again)!!

I honestly don't know what needs to be hotfixed - sure if it is something that is allowing exploits, or compromising account security, then fix it asap. But bundling in the next patch so the servers are down for several hours at the weekend (during the day/evening for a large number of players) seems a bit rash.

    I agree.
I rather like the fact that for once ZOS is thinking ahead of themselves on this issue.

Instead of having 100's of threads with people complaining about "The servers were just down a little over a day ago and now they are down again?" they are actually going ahead and tossing the next regular maintenance in with this Hotfix.
    This I appreciate :)

Quit complaining people, instead look at it this way... We will now (possibly) be able to play through until the 21st of November without any more downtime.

That's not rash, it's just an absurdly, *** decision. I can't understand how anyone from ZOS thought "hey i got a great idea, lets inc the maintanance with the hotfix, on a saurday, during EU day time" and thought no one would kick off.
