One Tamriel Overworld loot

First off I want to say excellent work on the One Tamriel patch. This update has given me reason to go back to PVE zones and has made the game feel much more alive and enjoyable. Dueling is a load of fun too.

However,

Can someone please explain to me the drop rate of gear in the PVE zones? I have a reasonable idea of which gear drops from where/what, but I have been non-stop farming (Have a load of free time at the moment) since the patch launched on console with no luck. I am looking for two sharpened Spinners swords (For BlobEsos Mageblade build). After all this time I have only seen 2 swords with horrid traits on them, but loads of chest, legs and helm pieces.

What’s the go? Am I just insanely unlucky? Or should I try farming the Lotto, as winning millions of dollars is a more reasonable bet.

Any help would be appreciated.

Buy them. Seems like you have the short stick of "only useless pieces" RNG. I for myself had 25 purple divines and impenetrable spinner shoulder pieces so far but as usual no jewellery.

Their RNG is fine, though. That's what he said.

Afaik, you may find everything up to purple quality. This sux if you want gold jewelry, but only method I saw to obtain gold rings and necklace is to spend some crazy coin/AP in Cyrodiil when the Golden have them for sale.

Sets that drop in Overworld have small chance to drop from any mob you kill in that zone. Also, chests have chance for any set piece, while master chests have one guaranteed. Public dungeon bosses in that zone can drop weapon, shoulders or hands. Overland bosses can drop weapon, head, chest or pants. Delve bosses drop waist and feet set pieces. And for jewelry, go dark anchors.

Best way to farm Spinner swords is by going to the Public Dungeon. The bosses inside can only drop Hands, Shoulders & Weapons.

You should be able to buy them though -- because everyone has been farming them mercilessly.

Sharpened swords in any set are hard to get.

I nearly hit the ceiling when I got a sharpened spriggan axe lol.

Weapons drop from public dungeon bosses and world bosses. But public dungeons just get zerged so world bosses are best bet.

Just convince yourself that you want preposterous gear. Since the drop rate for that is around 80%.

If you ask me, since ppl will mostly combine spriggan with NMG/Hundings or spinner with Julianos, it is not worth to spend 20 days farming weapons. Find divine spriggan/spinner gear, combine it with same set jewelry and craft the rest. When on DW you will have benefits of both penetration and damage, and that is it. When the prices go down a bit, feel free to buy some weapons. Do not waste time going for that 1% chance of perfect weapon with perfect trait drop. Plenty of other stuff to do, anyways.

ROFL, that's true, with all the Pre-Prosperous Bretons trying to make fashion statement with this useless gear

we may be forced to live the Breton way.

But honestly, every trait should have an equal chance of dropping, when every trait takes the exact same time to research, or is there something called rare traits that I am not aware of? The amount of decon I do everyday is crazy, almost 120+ items every hour or so.

Yeah I need Necropendance and a monster set on the body, so swords is a must. I have been running between 2 Overworld bosses the whole time. Seems to be the best "Drop-chance-per-minute" approach, I have tired going for the public dungeon bosses, but as it was said above, they are definitely farmed out and harder to keep a consistent kill on. (Also they seem to be much more squashy)

I may have to wait until it cools down and buy them. I am not very rich in game, nothing that pays well interests me haha.

Weapons also can be found in chests. Go to a small delve (off peak hours are best) and run the circle clearing all chests.
