If you're talking about spinners it isn't rare; I've managed to loot a full set of purple jewels for me, my brother and a guildie in just a few days of not particularly intensive farming. I got the full set for my guildie in about half an hour. Malabal tor dolmens can be done back to back constantly if you have a max speed mount with rapids. The jewels only come in the best trait so the only rng is quality. I got lucky with an impen head from a public dungeon and then bought an impen shoulder for 15k. Gave a divines shoulder to my guildie. Go farm it, it really isn't rare.
why not make some money then? i'm buying a sharpenend lightning staff for 500k (on EU) if you want to sell this "not rare" set.
There are 4 magica sets including this one i am farming up currently.
Of ALL the sets I have had one lightning staff (charged) drop and you are asking for the most sought after trait.
I get the point you are trying to make, but you are doing a poor job of making it. I have plenty of jewelry and armour for all the sets as well as the guy you quoted.

But, would that not open up a bunch of other possibilities?
I.E. If I'm running spinner, then the other dps can run Precise/Infused or whatever for more damage?
I wonder if that would be a significant dps gain and what the best trait to use would be, opposed to sharpened.
