Spinners Robe set?

RyuHyabusa427
Has anyone tested the 5pc bonus?

How's the damage increase?

Would be useful if there was a magicka set that had a 9k tooltip that proc's on any magic dmg every 4s.

    But that would be OP

    Oh wait...

Spinner seems good overalll though, even light armor builds can easily have 20k spell resist, dk's/templar have like 4k extra spell resist, anything using a s&b in a 5 light /1/1 will have like 18k with an armor buff.

Most stam builds are using the heavy armor meta.

    Seems like a useful set.

    Current CP : 756+

I have every character level 50, both a magicka and stamina version.

RIP my effort to get 5x v16 characters...

Nice in pvp. Will help in vma too. I don't do any other structured pve. There are other threads similar to this atm, check them out for more details.

Spinner is about a 6% increase in overall damage, assuming you haven't jibbed the armor rating of the enemy to zero.

Martial knowledge is about a 5% overall increase, since every other attack is buffed 10%. But in practical use you can weave light attacks to do better (all heavy spells hitting at 10%)

The sets like netch's touch that add 400 spell damage to some abilities (fire or lightning) will add better than 10% or better spell damage to those. But for a Sorc thats not buffing curse or frags. It'll make wrath/fury hurt though.

Am I missing something in the five piece sets?

    That sounds about right.
-For armor penetration, they want it to work as a way to negate armor values. But shields have no armor to penetrate and you can waste penetration if the enemy has little armor.
    - martial knowledge could be a great set but it also requires you to time a rotation.
    - elemental style sets are better if you can use as much of the proc source as possible. This is similar to how players customize their builds to work with Skoria procs except instead of dots youll be using lighting.

I guess I was sort of hoping we would get something cool like viper sting. But the magicka sets this patch are largely underwhelming.

I did the grind for necropotence, then discovered that pets are pretty useless and gutted, so I sold all of the pieces. Without a pet it had just one more max magicka bonus than I had with elegance or spinner.

I did the grind for Spinner, and mostly I regret it. I am pretty much the same or better off using the full Elegant set I did before (20% overLOL and 40K crits).

I'm going to try illambris and the infernal guardian monster sets next. Not that I have anything better to do. Cyrodiil is a ghost town lately, it's full of the stam kids who got their new (and so much better) toys and want to try them out. On us...

If you're talking about spinners it isn't rare; I've managed to loot a full set of purple jewels for me, my brother and a guildie in just a few days of not particularly intensive farming. I got the full set for my guildie in about half an hour. Malabal tor dolmens can be done back to back constantly if you have a max speed mount with rapids. The jewels only come in the best trait so the only rng is quality. I got lucky with an impen head from a public dungeon and then bought an impen shoulder for 15k. Gave a divines shoulder to my guildie. Go farm it, it really isn't rare.

I thought that the best part was how stam gets an increase dmg on physical atks & also an increased 2hander dmg set that stack so you can spam your one shotting, ult retuning 2hander ult?

The only way a Sorc is going to kill anything in this patch is to spam overload with elegance or soul assault with spinner.

I want to say so much more about how this ruins the PVP game completely. I want to go into why the design decision makes it less fun for everyone. I want to describe how dying to one light attack holds no interest whatsoever.

But I just got a ban warning for using the word 'cancer'. No joke. ZOS worked hard on 1T, and they're upset about all of the extremely negative feedback.

My comments were in no way meant to disparage Die Hard, I would never do that. I could have picked the Rambo series as an example of simply adding more explosions...but Rambo was awesome too.

One would think. The changes required to fix it would be simple enough to do, they could have it through a QA cycle in a week or two along with their regular bug fix release.

I think they're already buried up to their necks working on the housing expansion though, and are too tired/busy/cranky to engage a bunch of players angry about *last* month's patch. I understand quarterly objectives and aggressive development cycles.

I mean, how long did we have to deal with Malubeth being broken before they fixed it?

Yeah farming the weapons is a bit more of a pain in the butt, world bosses seem to drop the most but not every time. Not hard to get the rest of the set though, sash is a bit harder to come by. The point of my post was that there should be no need to buy the jewellery.

Should any magicka player get uppity about their new status as support crew and dare push the front line, you just drop a negate on the head of that pesky talon-spamming mDK or streaky sorc.

Anyone else not impressed with Spinners? I need to do some full CP campaign testing, but I did some PVP on Azuras last night.

I won't lie. It's bad out there. First off, 6% extra damage just isn't all that much to begin with. Second, you're stacking two shields every two seconds or you're instant proc-dead. Damage procs are constant, and the miserable irony is that the average proc does more damage than most of your curse hits and some of your crystal frags.

Terrible sets. Terrible game design. Devs, please show me on the doll where the naughty Sorc touched you? Because it's absolutely miserable out there being one. We are so sorry for whatever we did to deserve this garbage.

It doesn't bother me anymore. Because math. 6% extra spinner damage is only 600 more points of damage on a full 10K hit.

Meanwhile, on an elegance set you get 1800 points of extra damage on a 9K flame staff heavy attack. 1000 per 5K lightning staff heavy tick, and a full 7200 on a 36K overload hit.

If someone wants to pay 500K gold for spinner stuff take it! I bought a sharpened spinner cold staff for 30K I think, it's not worth much more than that.

true. it's even more extreme when you look at stuff like 5 torugs and offensive glyphs (especially prisma vs vamps, but not only). however, in a non-heavy-attack AoE situation, spinners is just much much better. and those exist - a lot. tbh i'm a bit confused that so many want the spinner set. burning spellweave should be better if you're going full fire AoE (especially with destro ult), there are countless better options for single target.

however, it's perfect for my particular use-case (i think) and why shouldn't I try to get the perfect item, then.

A destro Sorc is going to weave heavy attacks into their opening every chance they get.

Burning spellweave looks good, except that it almost requires a sharpened fire staff (you can't use cold or lightning, my fave). I'm wondering if something like mother's sorrow or regular old scathing Mage might be better for PVP.

6% is such a tiny amount.

Horribly rare and expensive set. How we are able to test it, I wonder.

Go farm it, it really isn't rare.

why not make some money then? i'm buying a sharpenend lightning staff for 500k (on EU) if you want to sell this "not rare" set.

There are 4 magica sets including this one i am farming up currently.

Of ALL the sets I have had one lightning staff (charged) drop and you are asking for the most sought after trait.

I get the point you are trying to make, but you are doing a poor job of making it. I have plenty of jewelry and armour for all the sets as well as the guy you quoted.
