Maintenance for the week of September 22:
• NA megaservers for maintenance – September 22, 4:00AM EDT (8:00 UTC) - 10:00AM EDT (14:00 UTC)
• EU megaservers for maintenance – September 22, 8:00 UTC (4:00AM EDT) - 14:00 UTC (10:00AM EDT)

So, what's the top CP amount?

Idle curiosity, but what's the most CP anyone has amassed to your knowledge? I haven't spotted anyone above 1100 points yet but that's just me.

I can kind of independently assert to that. I had a guild member tell me they saw someone with 3,000 CP a few months ago. Whether it's true or not, I cannot say...only that I've heard it from someone else in my guild and someone who is not Alcast.

How can you see how many CPs above the cap someone actually has? When you see them in the world or group it will still show 531.

I've reached 630 CP in almost 11 months of playing, but the amount of XP you need to gain CP increases with each one, especially above the cap. At my count it's about 790K for the next point and I gain on average 2 points every 3 days just doing the normal activity each day: crafting writs, gold and silver pledge, random dungeon, sometimes a bit of PvP or IC & SoH dungeons with friends. I also level alts. Play for 3-4 hours on average each day and it's really demanding, especially coming home after a full day of work. I really don't understand how someone can amass more than 1000 points and still live his life, especially given the futility of going so much above the cap. Supposing they raise it just 30 CP each DLC and churn out one every 2-3 months, that means 10-15 CP increase a month. Which you can easily match just playing the game, without any kind of grind involved.

One thing I saw in actual game play is that the number of CPs someone has doesn't actually strongly correlate with his ability to play the game. Had V16s and now CP400+ players that were really bad in dungeons and CP250-300 play very well. Probably there are indeed some that solo-grinded huge numbers without actually learning to play the game.

The scaling CP xp-needed system is relatively new. When the champion system was released, every CP was 400k XP. That's when most people grinded out their crazy CP amounts.

Enlightenment was bugged for many accounts in the first few weeks of the CP system, many players took advantage of the fact they never ran out of enlightenment. Combined with XP pots and pledge of Mara that's the reason some players have 1000 and more CP.

It was sort of like the perma emp DK's back in the day, they got so used to playing as emp that many of them forgot how to play with out, for some players high CP had the same effect.

CP system at its launch was a real clusterf**k. I have never seen such a grind - every single even remotely viable grinding spot was crawling, Cracked Wood Cave was the go-to place for PvP, and those that abused the Enlightenment exploit became the gods in PvP rocking hundreds of CP when others barely had a few dozen. By the time CP cap was put in place, loads of people already had over a thousand, some even reaching 3k - those people will never have to worry about getting XP ever again, no matter how many CP cap raises occur.

Yeah, you can have high CP and suck. One time I got into vICP with a cp 501 person (back when that was the cap), and he had no idea how to stay away from red and stuff like that.

Then there was that time a cp 20 person picked up vWGT really quickly, compared to the cp 300 group member.

Biggest CP I've seen was about 1316, when I ran trials yesterday.
