Time for some theory crafting! Thinking about the struggles of mDK in solo open world PvP--lack of burst (without an ultimate), lack of execute, lack of mobility, lack of escape, situational healing. Since we're in the stamina meta, this gave me the idea of leveraging the pelinals aptitude (PA) set to address some of the mDK weaknesses.
So here's my thought--PA in medium armor, with medium armor passives plus flawless dawnbreaker will make up for losing the 5pc kags bonus. Stacking weapon damage, we can swap will power for arcane agility and torugs pact for leki focus. This will have a loss of about 2.5k magicka for 1.5k stamina and 124 stamina recovery. We should also end up in the 3.5-4K weapon damage range (Meaning 3.5-4K spell damage with PA).
Now there's a couple ways to address mDK weaknesses. We can run a 2H on the back bar for rally (healing+weapon damage buff) and an execute. Our max stam won't be very high, so the damage values won't be as high as a full stam class, but it's better than a mDKs execute
Or we could run a bow for movement speed with dodge rolls. If we're willing to drop a 1HS, we could even run a 2H front bar and bow back bar. With a piece or two of well fitted plus medium armor passives, dodge rolling can replace blocking.
There may be even more creative things to do. I still have a few days on my 9th trait for medium gloves, so figured I'd theory craft in the meantime.
