I don't know how it came to be by the flag, but I came upon the Ranger in combat with the 3 guards just now. Since the Bruma Ranger can't take damage, it killed all 3 guards before deaggroing back to its original location. lol
I checked out the AD town yesterday to see what it was like. One of the flag guards kept attacking the roaming guards as soon as they were in range. They would take 10 steps towards the flag and then turn around and run back. This kept happening over and over again. I don't think ZOS took this into consideration when creating the towns like this. They should have made all guards in the town the same alliance with this update.
ZOS_BrianWheeler is there a specific reason that the guards in the capturable towns clash with the flag guards? All players have to do is run to their flags and let the NPC's there help to kill the roaming town guards. Why not make everyone in that town of the same alliance? Have them all flip alliance just like the resource/keep guards do when it's taken over. Lets make it more of a challenge to take the town as everyone in it should be defending it, not just the flag guards.

There has always been a request for having more "visible fights" between the alliances and while this is a very small skirmish in the grand scheme, we liked how this plays out as the guards of the towns always kill off any would be enemy attacker NPCs. It also gives a further benefit of Alliance patrols in these towns if you capture the nearby Keeps and capture the towns.

That is cool. Flagging it artificially would draw a lot of people from multiple factions too. I dig it.

How does the ranger flag the town? From what I've seen, a town only gets flagged as Under Attack when you've been standing in the capture radius for a certain period of time, not when you attack the guards. The problem is that that ranger actually kills the guards and sometimes flags the town as a result. Weird as hell but I watched it happen earlier.I checked out the AD town yesterday to see what it was like. One of the flag guards kept attacking the roaming guards as soon as they were in range. I bet it would attract more than just you, and more than just the defending faction. At the very least, it keeps people moving about. At most, it will draw more attackers and defenders to create a new fight on the map.
