This is why you should wear impen in cyrodiil.

Oh, pretty sure my empowered proc frags hits for 8 - 10k in cyrodiil (edit: non crit, in practice above opponents head on scroll text, unless they're tanky as !@#$ obviously)

In order to hit for 10.125 crit with 1.75x you'd have to be empower/proc fragging for 5.78k (on 0 resist impen???)
    So you'd have a tooltip damage of like 8k? (20% empower 20% proc) 8 * 1.2 * 1.2 = 11.52 / 2 = 5.76

Where is this 1.75 coming from. It means +75%.

    A crit is +50% or 1.5

    If you're talkin about the 75% impene resist, that's .75 not 1.75

    Why are we including empowered?

Also a procced frag, unless I'm wrong, cannot be empowered ontop of the 20% proc. But is totally moot.

Edit: In my past post I showed where I got 10.1kish Critical Frag total damage against an opponent with 75% crit damage reduction, and then where that same attack would deal 13kish damage without any impen.

Meaning a long term damage reduction average of 1.5kish damage total thanks to the impen.

@Waffennacht 1.75x is the maximum critical damage modifier with CP (Edit: oops forgot NB passives and stuff but w/e)
aka, you deal 175% total damage when critting.
Empowered and frags proc _do_ stack, since frag proc does not grant 'empower', it is a buff called 'Crystal Fragments proc' which stacks with empower (try it on NPC, it's obvious)

75% crit reduction actually negates 75% crit damage (simple wording: negates/subtracts from multiplier) in a literal sense, that is to say
if you have 4700 impen or w/e and your opponent has 100 CP in +crit damage (of magicka/stamina) the crit will come to 1x modifier rather than 1.75x

If you have a crit rating of 3300(ish) and your opponent has 0 CP and crits you, it will do the same damage as if it were not a crit. That is, it reduced 33% of the 'total' damage, or the entire crit (edit: another way to say this is you would have dealt 50% more damage). If you negate a 75% crit mod, this is roughly a 43% damage reduction (would have dealt 75% more), compared to whatever damage they would have done had you had 0 impen.

    Edit: final example
if you have 3300 crit res against someone with 100 CP in +crit bonus
They will crit you @ 1.25x (you subtracted 50% from bonus)
This still equates to a reduction of 50% of the non-crit original damage

    aka 10k which could be 17.5k is now 12.5k (a 5k reduction, 50% of 10k)
whether it applies before or after armor or mitigation makes no difference, it will negate .5x of their crit mod

Basically, I don't want to take 75% more damage when my opponent crits me with a very hard hitting burst attack =)

Mur, I don't know the impene or crit "numbers" well enough to know what they translate into percentages.

Awesome about the empower and frag proc.

But back to the issue. I'll simplify it! I'm under the impression that impenetrable will only reduce a percentage of the additional damage added to the base damage of an ability when it critically hits.

Meaning Impen will never reduce a non critical hit and never reduce the attack's base damage. Is this wrong?

Yeah, my data shows ~3.6% crit mitigation per 250 impen.

It might be that their CP level is low. On my ~325 CP account I get railed even with 7-8 impen and 44 resistant. On my 501+ accounts, I can attack, emote, attack, emote, heal, attack, emote....

    @holosoul

Who runs with that much crit modifier on a Sorc?! No one that's who! Lol messin around. Just i think it's funny we are discussing Frag (a magicka sorc move) and a 75% crit modifier, which really don't coexist.

@Waffennacht It's limited to reducing the crit back to a non crit

Like if you have 4700 impen (transmutation) and your opponent has 0CP in +crit
It will still only reduce the crit from 1.5x to 1x, it will NOT make it do less damage than a non crit

I feel like you think it takes the bonus damage and subtracts from that, but it subtracts from their bonus _modifier_ not their _damage_

Ah ha! That indeed is where I'm messing up! I see!

This still requires such a huge investment in crit reduction CP it's not funny. Wouldn't Hardy and elemental defender still be better places to put points?

Yes i run hardy and ele. Defender up to 48 on each then go into crit mod. Reducing the base damage kinda works hand and hand with crit mod too.

Whatever, I have 3300 Impen, still go sliding around the grass in Cyrodiil.

    Cool video.

I too also run with Hardy and Elemental being around ~40 CP into each rest into the Resistant. It has worked out pretty well so far.
