The damage of teleport strike by 6.5%

It's not a huge nerf, but it wasn't necessary; especially considering how expensive it is.

I love my spambush but honestly it's pretty OP.

Not really, I use empowered chains on my DK, and it does the same thing. It does crap damage though due to scaling with elemental expert. It should really scale off of mighty since it's typically melee characters that want to be in your face.

The biggest issue with TS is the lack of a minimum range like all other gap closers. I would much rather they simply gave it a minimum range. But still, in terms of dmg and utility, it out performs all other gap closers except maybe Toppling Charge, but that is sooo broken you rarely ever see it used.

O gods, poor nightblades. Now sorcs shield and surge nerf is nothing.
I guess ZOS wanted to prevent gap-closing spam that way. What can I say - nice try. Spambushers will spambush anyway because of stun and empower and magicka nightblades never spamed Lotus Fan because it was too weak and expensive for that.

Seriously though, Ambush doesn't stun unless you combo it - and I doubt most spambushers even know about the combos.

Yes one gap closes and the other gap closes.
One requires a path to the opponent, the other is a teleport. One does more damage because, the other can be cast at point blank range, can be cast while rooted, can be used to jump inside keeps and resource towers and if you are lucky also through a door.

Nope, it's a snare - they removed the immobilize a couple patches ago as people were abusing it for permaroot.

Fixing the mechanics would of made more sense . Jumping through doors , leaping out of roots were all unintentional bugs in the ability . I have no issues fixing old bugs but the notes didn't even mention those problems being addressed .

They won't fix teleporting through doors unless they fix the game wide problem with projectiles hitting you while you've already passed a door.

You don't move out of the root, you actually take the root with you. Bolt Escape behaves the same way and I don't think that's a really big problem.

TS was completely out of control with the unbreakable snare. And that's coming from a build that has adapted to TS spam.

Teleport strike damage wasn't a big issue . You don't see any pros relying on it or spamming it . I'll one or two shot most people with other abilities way faster .

Actually dragging the root with you is a problem . It ruins the opposing players day that wasted resources using it . That would of stopped spambush right there . But instead they'll leave the bug and you'll see the same results as new gear set pops up and increases the damage back or another bugged ability or weapon makes a debut in a new DLC .

    #Balance and fixes

    Not nerfs .

Teleport Strike/Ambush didn't need a damage nerf, it needed a minimum distance and a slight cost reduction to make up for it. IMO, anyway.

So several nb skills get shifted over to disease damage and effectively raise stamblade damage and this 6.5% damage reduction on a teleport based gap closer that comes with either empower or an aoe dot with a snare, you realize how good of a skill that is even if it came with no damage, right?

Absolutely, the only reason I currently use it is because it's the most reliable gap closer I have access to and it can reach places other gap closers cannot.

You're classifying all Nightblades as stamina users . Your logic with stamina is sound . An my main issue here is the outcry has been from the ability being broken mostly . I.e. The door trick , bypassing root ect .

That just comes with the skill being teleport based. If ZOS plans to make all gapclosers teleports than those would likely be fixed.

The mechanic is what infuriated players . Being spammed to death by one ability which in itself couldn't kill a mudcrab . No one could root it or counter it and most of the victims of that useless technique would be spammed in groups . As it made no sense for a solo player to spam it . I just feel like the Devs made a worthless adjustment that won't solve anything .

I like your outlook, and it suggests an intelligent solution over the typical 'NERF it so no one uses it' approach. Every skill in this game needs more compelling reasons to use them, vs.. Making them so bad no one uses them cuz balance.
