Puncturing Sweep Cancelling

I am new to the Magplar, so i apologize if this is a noob question but;

Is anyone else having problems Animation Cancelling the channel of Puncturing Sweeps with a weaponswap? I am constantly experiencing that my bar will switch back involuntarily. I have testet it out of combat, and cannot figure out what causes it. It seems to happen the most, when i am doing alot of actions immediately, as in trying to activate another skill right after barswapping

Just to be clear, what happens is;

Channelling Puncturing
Barswap
Barswap Back to original bar.

It feels kinda weird to have the bar swap like that without me asking for it. And gets me killed in combat (keep hitting more punctuing instead of heals).

If i cancel with Block or Bash first, it never seems to happen.

Sounds like an addon problem, are you using an ui overhaul? are your addons up to date?

UI / Addon problem? Hmmm. That would be strange. But guess it cant hurt to try! Will try tonight with everything but FTC disabled.

Do you actually see a dps increase from light attack cancelling with sweeps? It seems to me that consecutive sweeps end up being much faster than when canceling with sweeps. Anecdotal only though, have not taken the time to log it.

Never actually tested if the DPS increases, but considering the light attack weaving takes basically no time at all (as fast as you can press the button anyway) - AND you can charge heavy while channelling, it would really really surprise me if it did not increase the DPS significantly to weave light or heavy attacks between sweeps. Although IMO it is more difficult to weave with these channel abilities, because your timing needs to be better, otherwise you will loose time between the sweeps, and that could mean less DPS than just spamming the one button for sweeps. So when i do sweeps, i mostly just spam LA and Sweeps (left/right mouse button), and that ends up being a light attack weave about 50% of the time.

The timing is only more difficult in serious lag, outside of laggy situations I wait for a particular point in the animation and that actually makes it pretty easy.

I did not know you could charge the heavy attack while channeling. That's right up there on the broken list with cancelling wrecking blow with heavy.

Edit: I weave for the ultimate, so not every attack. I will have to test the dps, sometimes what seems slower actually isn't.

I seem to not be able to weave with destro staff, I can weave a full heavy attack with dual wielding swords though... don't know if it's just me, or if there is a trick to it? :S

Hmm, what abilities are you using before and after the basic attack?

Usually people find staff the easiest to weave with.

@Wreuntzylla Puncturing Sweeps + light/medium/heavy attack...
1 Nirnhoned Flame staff with Absorb Magicka enchantment.
2 Precise 1-handed swords without enchantments.

I can make a light, medium or heavy with DW swords equipped, for some reason I fail with a flame staff >.< ..and yes I just spam that one button for sweeps when enemies get close and try to weave unless I lag.

I weave to regain ulti btw. X_X
