Launcher Problem.

Downloaded the game today off the Four discs. All went fine until "updating applications list". There was no loading bar and the launcher completely froze then crashed. I have changed all my proxies and firewall settings that i can. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and redownloaded. Any other ideas?

Don't use the installer from the DVDs, both it and the game files they contain are old and outdated. You won't save very much data to download anyway, as the game files got updated several times since the DVDs were released.

Go to your account page on https://account.elderscrollsonline.com/ and download the Install_ESO.app from there.

Its worked, its all downloading now! Just have to wait days for the online download....

What OS X version do you run? As with the latest update to the game, a minimum version of OS X 10.9 Mavericks is required due to the needed OpenGL 4.1 support (although 10.11 El Capitan is strongly recommended).

Im on a OSX Yosemite 10.10.5,
Im reluctant to download the EL Capitan...so many bad reviews.

Haven't had any bad experiences yet -- except with OS X Server trashing my LDAP DB on update to version 5, but that's another story.

Yosemite is fine. With the ESO client now using OpenGL 4.1, it needs to compile the shaders on the fly every time it launches, with the effect of a longer loading screen between character selection and logging into the world. Luckily, both Yosemite and El Capitan are nearly twice as fast in doing this when compared to Mavericks.
