Pls make chests spawn less and have better contents

Chests should be only found through treasure maps or have a super low spawn chance with at least blue or higher items if not purple.
"Treasure" isn't 40 gold and a green item.. It may have been at launch when mobs dropped 1 gold MAYBE but not anymore pls make them have some meaning other than a crappy amount of ledgermain exp

Try having a VR16 character and open in a VR zone... then you might not have such bad loot...

Since launch we've had specific areas dropping sets that belong to that area's level through chests.

Healers Habit lvl 20-30, Soulshine set, Martial Knowledge v14, and now Briarheart, Dominion motif pages...

Would have been better if they made dungeon sets drop in chests. Like SPC in WGT chests. Give more incentives to farm. Why on earth a wrothgar chest thinks I want a well fitted V15 trinimac sash I'll never know. So much for scaling. I'd rather a malachite and soul gem these days. Or ZOS remove half the chests in all dungeons and wrothgar and dump more heavy sacks on the game. Much more useful.

I say heavy sacks because right now on XB 8 Columbine is 8k. Straight away. Easy gold and very useful.

When you ask them to nerf something ie spawn less they will do that. Asking, give more or better, they don't really do that so much as in ever... As in never. Nerfs yes..... Improvements.... Buffs? Soon... no ETA. After 2 years you would think I would not be surprised it's ok you are new.

No.Dont take them away,or change them in any way,please. Chests are all over Khenarthi's Roost for the newbies so that they can learn to unlock locks with practice.Plus give them some kind of gear and weapons.They arent there to give the player high end treasure. Just good working items for the newbies. Same with Bleakrock Island.Another newbie place.Not everyone can play well enough at the start.They have to learn to pick locks and need gear too.
Maybe put better stuff in the chests in other places,but not the starter areas. :}

That would be a major XP hit for me.

I did quite a bit of leveling while farming thanks to Chests. Yes, I have the 1000 chests achievement. I really didn't care what was in them, but the XP was worth it.

Agreed, it -would- be much nicer if treasure chests had a bit better loot... maybe less easy to find as well, I know I myself often do "treasure chest rounds" in orsinium, going from location to location to ppen any which are spawned, it usually goes like "trash... trash... trash... trash... malachite shard and trash... trash... trash... trash... blue V16 piece I can upgrade to purple for this alt, yay!"
I'd much rather have a way more difficult time finding and opening a treasure chest, but then be -guranteed- something really nifty. V16 pieces. Gold tempers. Rare stuff like that...

Yes something that feels like treasure not just crap items I get from every mob and enough gold to buy 2 bananas

Granted the treasure found is usually worthless (weird, considering it's all nicely locked away in a chest hidden in an odd place) but I open all I find because I like picking the locks so much.
