Will VR be removed 100% yes for next DLC/Big Patch?

Yes or No.

I want to re roll to magicka sorc but im not grinding another 16 VR levels to do it....I may wait until the next DLC / Big patch IF VR ranks are being removed for 100% sure...then I may make loads of different characters...

I waited for thieves patch and it's completely destroyed everything I liked about my main character right down to the looks and style, but if VR ranks are not being removed for sure next big patch, im done with ESO and leaving the game.

For me personally this has been the worst patch ESO has ever released.

If were told NO ETA or have to wait another 6 months for changes again....screw it im done im out.

I don't get removing the VR levels. It seems gear will still have cp level limits and they could have opened the caldwells silver/gold areas either way.

So instead of grinding to vr (x) you're grinding to cp (x). No difference in my eyes.

Yeah but CP is account based not character based. So when you reach lv 50 and you already have champion points gathered on your main, your basically V16 right away

Yeah the idea of losing the vet rank I think is stupid as its way to easy to get to level 50 and if your main is maxed champ rank then its gonna be way to easy to max toons, should have just uped the vet rank or not bothered with it at all and level capped higher

They may not always follow up on their promises (looking at you, Justice system), but they have said multiple times that VRs will get removed in DB update (2.4).

    Yes.

Because once you get one toon to vr16, every subsequent one only has to get to 50. They are then basically vr16.

    It's a huge difference.

This is what some players don't seem to grasp... they are making the game more alt friendly by allowing a player's alt that reaches level 50, to automatically attain the same level as that player's max character; they last stated that 160 CP would equal VR16.

Right now grinding alts is not worth the time and effort of 16 VR levels...

Really not liking these patch changes at all, think I might skip this round and wait for the next.

Why not just raise the level cap with future DLC (after they remove VR ranks)? CP can still continue accumulating after 50, but it wouldn't be so easy to max level a character.

I think if they take away VR ranks they should make Champ points not account wide rather just for the toon you are leveling, I enjoy the grind myself it is one of the reasons I play I enjoy unlocking the next thing and so on otherwise there is no reward and that makes things boring.

I don't get removing veteran ranks. I know players with 8 veteran characters. I have 3 so far and 3 more on the way.

I'm sure there must be another way to balance this. For me, having the veteran ranks is something to aim for and work towards. Without veteran its going to be waaaay too easy to get a character to level 50 in just a couple days. I am really not looking forward to the removal of veteran ranks!!

Also, people are now being scaled in content, so I really don't see what the deal is.

So why are you so worried about what other players are doing? Instead of aiming for VR you'll be aiming for CP... that is how progression will work once VR is removed. Because ZOS doesn't plan on offering Class changes, players shouldn't be forced to take a character all the way through Cadwell's Silver/Gold quests or grind mobs just to get an alt to max level to play another Class. And NO, people are not 'being scaled in content' in the Silver/Gold zones... only newer content is scaled, older content is not.

For people that do not understand.
You do not need to grind to max level? Right? How about sets? How about equipment upgrades?
Right now You not only need to grind to max level(like in most MMOs, if not all) but there is another grind for gear. You simply can not farm max level monster sets with your vr1 character. You can not grind bound on pickup sets with your vr1 character. And with amount of time that is needed to reach vr16 it is not worth to wait so long to actually play the damn game. I also waited for Thieves Guild DLC and Veteran Ranks removal just to play ESOTU. There is much easier to get CP, which You do not need to grind per character and they also said that even vr16 with minium CP will be able to equip gear that has equiped right now.

    Meh.

VR stays... VR goes... I just don't care anymore.

But what I do like is the amount of humor that massive overreactions (like the OP's) brings to me.

In my case, like OP I'm incredibly excited about the removal of veteran ranks. It means I will finally be able to equip endgame gear and play all the seven other characters I've been slowly trying to grind to V16.

And if I want to try some other race/class combination, I can delete any of these characters and get a new one to max level in a day or so. This is the whole point of the champion system.

I mainly play ESO to participate in the endgame PVP campaigns. If you are playing a low level VR character in Cyrodiil, with recent changes to battle leveling it's now possible to be competitive if you spend a lot on gear every couple levels, but in my case, I prefer not to bother much with gear at lower levels.

Once I reach max level, that's when it feels like I can start playing the game with that character instead of grinding. At that point I can fully test various build ideas, keep adjusting until I figure out a build I like for that race & class, and then have fun killing some people in Cyrodiil. :p

I only started the game in Dec so I don't have a v16 character yet and it's that which really holds me back from playing the game more. Yes there's plenty of people with V16 characters but for a new person that's one hell of a grind for almost no reason and it's extremely boring + off putting. I don't see the point in the veteran levels as it's stopping me playing end game content by several months even though I've already finished the main quest line and yet I'm forced to do every other nations quest lines to level up, it just seems weird and pointless.

Also with the removal lingering it kind of makes levelling up to V16 right now pointless, as yes it will grant me extra CP once it's removed I already have 160+ CP to be able to wear the top gear at V6. I don't know if it's just me but I'm really finding it hard levelling up when it's going to be removed "at some point" and it's taken a lot of the fun out of the game with this massive pointless grind to reach V16 because they couldn't be bothered releasing enough new content to keep people busy.

They said we won't lose skill points, so losing VR16 on 3 characters and VR14 on another won't be a huge problem. I have almost 500 CP, so if I take my level 43 nightblade to 50, it can wear the best gear. Saves one heck of a grind. My other 3 characters have a ways to go for level 50, but far less than trying to get them to VR16.

Exactly. ^^ Waiting 6-12 months for VR removal is getting loooooooooooooooong.
