Fishing Superstitions

I have heard from several people that where and how you gut your fish may have a chance to tickle RNG gods fancy. For example someone told me that standing next to a cooking fire or keeping your trophy fish while gutting has a better perfect roe yield. I find this very intriguing as a good portion of my family fishes for a living and have superstitions of there own, like never bring a banana on the boat or never have a women on board while fishing. (My apologies for any offense taken by the female sex on the previous comment, no offense was meant just stating the more well known superstitions)

Does any one out there have any other eso fishing superstitions? I would very much like to hear them and try them out for myself.

I personally jump into a river, strip down to nothing and yell out in zone chat with all caps:

BLESS ME AND THE FISH I AM ABOUT TO SKIN

I have yet to find a perfect roe, but I am sure this works...just give me some more time to test it.

Isn't there a tooltip about getting better luck when fishing the same spot as someone else?

I haven't tried it myself, as I don't want to have to explain why I appear to be muscling in on someone elses spot...

There do seem to be bad days. FIsh all day and dry up all the holes in your zone, you get nothing but regular fish. Come back the next day you can get all the blue and green fish of a particular type from 2 holes.

Never filet less than 50 fish. This is not an appropriate sacrafice and angers RNGesus and you will not receive the holy roe.

This applies to getting the Trophy fish (Greens and Blues) from a fishing hole. And it is absolutely correct. I can fish a hole solo and maybe pull a green from 15 casts. Fish the same hole with 3 or 4 others, and its a Green or Blue on almost every cast.

If your looking for Roe, fish solo, if your looking for the Master Angler Achievement, fish with friends.

Note the Purple Fish in Wrothgar, you don't need a group, just talk to the NPC, fish the correct hole (cross the inlet she is fishing and go past the rocks) and the correct time of day (sunset) and you will get the purple fish.

I'm currently working toward the master angler achievement and I like to fish and/or fillet with overload & magelight active. Not sure it helps but looks cool.

Khajiit knows many superstitions regarding the fishing - oh yes!

First of all you always must celebrate Fishmas as best you can with all your friends and you must go fishing on Fishmas Day. This makes the fishies happy to see you for the whole rest of the year. Exchanging lucky fishy sticks is also traditional.

This one has also heard that taking an orc fishing with you increases your chances of getting roe - especially if that Orc is called Roesie.

It is also important to dance by every fishing hole in order to stun the fish into submission.

As for the gutting of the fish it is usual to do this wearing only your fur so as not to ruin your best fishing ballgown. It also keeps other people away from your precious fishing holes.
