ZOS should re-name treasure maps to garbage maps or...

    Everything outside of Cyrodiil/Orsinium maps are pretty useless, but if you have the treasure passive in your CP tree unlocked they can be a good source of the new DLC sets, malachite shards and stuff you can deconstruct to sell the materials for.

    For the sake of 2 minutes of gameplay it makes sense to go pick up the loot

    I like what they did with adding malachite shards to treasure chests.

    Adding in to the tables and/or increasing the drop rates for the rarer motifs and maybe laurels in them would be neato, IMO.

    I like treasure maps (and chests in general). You always get a set item from them. Not everybody in the game is v16 and chasing end-game gear. Some people do run around with Warlock, Nightshade, Magicka Furnace or Syrabane sets as they are leveling and treasure chests are a great source for those.

    I agree on the fact maybe they should have a random spawning chest ( would be nice to have jump puzzles or something similiar to GW2 in finding them) that would need 10-20 keys to open it. Make sure they are random spawning so people just dont wiki its location and go get it. or IMHO? what i would do with the maps ( which i dont see all that difficult doing) Would be to have the random spawning chests. when u get a map and use it will give it a timer set for when the chest poofs. The map could help you find the chest but it would crumble when the chest randomly teleports again. ( think like a 1-2day respawn cycle) What happens if u use the map and the timer is about to poof already? Thats the gamble you take. If you cant find the chest in said time and the map crumbles well you know the trail you were on to find it has gone cold.

    Actually, as an added tongue-in-cheek-wink, why not have us find a garbage bin under that pile of dirt, that way the content would match the container? Once every blue and red striped moon we would find a chest with awesome rewards.

    They are needed for reliable Malachite Shard farming.

    Unfortunately, I bought hundreds of treasure maps once glass motif style mat mechanic was announced in the IC update, but due to RL stuff wasn't able to sell them off in time to make bank. Now the price for non-Orsinium or Cyrodiil treasure maps has bottomed out again and the maps are just sitting in my bank and alts. I'm thinking I'll just hold onto them until ZOS makes them relevant again :dizzy:

    I no longer bother with treasure maps either. I'll just delete them or sell them on the trader because they're a huge waste of time.

    TBH they should add some crafting mats even Nirh in some since its all RNG anyway why not zone specific could drop zone specific mats.

    I so getting green/blue useless gear would just add to craft mat gain

    Tons of Gold , materials and gems to sell to merchants ( emerald , diamonds , topaz etc. All with random size and quality cuts that effect value ) Occasionally gear and rarely powerful gear.

    I think treasure maps should be something people do for materials and gold. Not an easy way to get powerful gear quickly.

    I agree they need to add more valuable things to treasure chest, but not monster sets, pvp, MA or dungeon sets. Maybe items like those you can steal but not marked as stolen, and gold quality and worth at least a couple thousand, motifs, xp potion, temper, better glyphs (gold quality)...

    I disagree about the sivler/gold locks. unless there are new ways to obtain those keys that do not require to do vet dungeons. I'm tired of everything being a grind at end-game. Can't anythign be designed to be FUN?

    How about some chests be treasure hunts. A series of riddles and hints that lead you to the final chest location. This could be a scheduled server event, begining at a set time for everyone that has found the first clue (as loot). This treasure hunt could drop high end rewards because the fact is only 1 person per shard is going to obtain it:: Whoever solves riddles and gets there first. Treasure hunt can have clues updated weekly, or each patch. So that no 2 hunt is the same.

    Be original and stop asking for grinds... I refuse to believe some people actually like it. Sure you feel your time is invested, but do you like it WHILE you're grinding?? Think outside the box. ask for actual content. -_-

    They're not supposed to be special. Maps are basically where the guy who owned that chest buried the rest of his supplies.

    It probably wasn't intended when they were first created, but now there's really no better option than to spend every map in the Gold zone. Then bank the gear you find and let the noob character who found the map decon the stuff for better gains.

    It's a good basic game easy loot system. But the basic game system should never be better than what's offered in the game packs.

    Treasure maps can be real excitement if you put some valulable items in the loot table. My suggestion is add monster helmets in the loot table and make the chests locked. Lets us open them with our gold and silver keys. Add rarity system to them for example; high rarirty maps will let you find rare chests with lots of locks on it like 10 gold lock 10 silver lock and those chests will yield one of those sought after traits like infused, divines or nirnhoned. While low rarity maps yield more common chest with less locks on them and they will drop those useless trait items like explore, sturdy etc. Give low chance to drop for monster helmets but not like %0,0001 give %10 chance add good amount of gold like 10-20k.     why would that be horrible? wouldn't finding a monster helmet be...oh i dunno...a treasure? Like did you think about your response there or just don't want someone else getting a helmet because you worked hard on yours? Or is it maybe because you haven't found one? I mean what fuels someone to be anti letting another man find treasure with a treasure map? It's not like every map = a helmet, it could be a 5% chance or something low...
