    Hey folks,

Just wanted to address some of the frustration about lack of details and new information being expressed in this thread. We've made a decision to tell you as much as we're able, as early as possible, and earlier than we have in the past. That means sometimes we can only tell you "We're working on X" without an ETA or additional details. This is especially true when we're talking about features we're working on that aren’t on the immediate horizon.

We understand you guys want dates on everything in the Year Ahead Article, and we’ll be working to keep you updated on these as soon as we’re ready and confident to share those dates. We will share with you full details and dates for everything coming to ESO in the next year, but it won’t come all in one shot, and definitely not this early in the year.

We don't understand how you claim certain things are being worked on in the game for months, and then scrap them without batting am eye. For example, TG skill lines and PvP Justice. How can we trust what you say period when it gets retracted down the road whenever you decided they are no longer valid options to invest your resources in?

You mentioned this stuff in July 2014 at Quakecon, and we're just now hearing about the Justice system and TG/DB? We don't want dates. We want some damn transparency. WE would understand better if you would give us ANY information at all. Cause a year goes by and we don't hear a thing and then you decide it's no longer going to happen. That is something we are okay with.

    @ZOS_JessicaFolsom

This is how engineering works. Sometimes you try things and you only realize it isn't working after a long investment of time. Your lack of trust may be due to not understanding how software engineering works.

Your post is self-contradicting. We have people ranting because they want more info about the future. We have you claiming you want "transparency". Then we have you complaining because future plans didn't pan out. This is why device manufacturers keep details about new device models secret. They regularly cancel devices they worked on all year. Apple has tried all sorts of prototypes that got scrapped because they couldn't make it work yet. Look at Microsoft. No one expected the Surface Book due to secrecy. On the other hand, everyone expected a Surface Mini the year before, but that got cancelled due to engineering issues -- after much work and $ investment. The lack of a Surface Mini wasn't that big of a deal because they had never formally announced it anyway.

If you want transparency, be ready to be disappointed when ideas are worked on and then scrapped. This is completely normal in software projects, even highly successful ones. If you can't handle seeing the sausage being made, don't ask to see it in the first place.

Large projects like this have road maps. The same designers and engineers will work on multiple features. There may be no work on a particular planned feature for months because the engineers are busy with something else. No matter how much you nag them, they won't have more information until they have more information. Making them report updates to you on all features also won't help them get features out the door any faster.

Except those companies don't say " we are releasing this product and are still working on it" then when they get near the release date, they scrap it. They scrap them beforehand so they don't look stupid.

I should have added accountability to my previous post. Maybe it would make more sense to you.

When did ZOS say they were close to releasing PvP in the Justice System?

Companies scrap products and services after announcing a schedule for release all the time. Did ZOS even give us a schedule for PvP justice?

You said "those companies". Are you talking about Apple and MS? Those two companies have very little transparency when it comes to devices. On the other hand, MS has made many announcement of plans for Windows Phone over extended periods of time that they ended up cancelling because they knew they couldn't deliver. It happens all the time.

"Accountability" for what? For letting you know their tentative plans? You asked to know. If you can't handle disappointment, don't ask about plans because they often don't work out. Definitely don't ask to see the inner workings of software projects.

We shouldn't be like teenages who complain when their parents don't get them the car they promised them because the family car broke down and they had to spend all their money on a replacement. Plans are always tentative, especially at early stages and when the plan is far in the future.

GO IN!!! @DaveMoeDee I see you!

tbh me and many others are still no where near the cap. My guess is they took a look at the statistics and thought it would be a good idea to only give it a minor increase. If that's the case, then I don't see the problem in trying to keep CP balance as much as possible.
Haven't watched it yet, but I'm going to be disappointed if there was nothing about fixing existing class abilities. I don't care about any new skill lines. Basically your rant is pretty ridiculous.

I'm curious how long you've been with ESO. I ask, since you say you are no where near cap. I'm not there, but I'm not too far off... and I took a good 5 months off after Craglorn launched. I have never "grinded" cp or such, and just casual play I've almost gotten to cap.

I think the biggest frustration, is the sense of repeated circle jerk of excuses and loss of features that were either outright talked about or at the least hinted at. Back when I quit playing right after Craglorn.. they had been talking about Imperial City being about to launch for quite some time. Using it like some sort of carrot. I am the sort of player who is pretty damn loyal to a product, and try to be very patient. I purchased the Imperial Edition of ESO and played back in Beta. Why? Because I'm a fan of Elderscrolls universe and I heard good things about the PVP potential. There was a lot of hype about PVP, Spell Crafting, and the prospect of Thieves guild and Dark Brotherhood. Both of the latter being excellent ways to implement open world pvp and expand the pvp thrill of the game. I've been in a number of games that included well put together justice systems and/or opt in/opt out open world pvp. It brings a lot of replayability to the game. Honestly, I have been a top subscriber and purchaser of the Imperial Edition of ESO since Beta because I saw potential and am fairly patient. I payed for subscribtion even when I was abroad and unable to play. Why? To support the game and hope that it would get better. I stuck with it even when it felt month after month... like it was no more stable than it was in Beta. Why? Because I held out for potential.

With the confirmation that what I held out for in the game being not an interest of the current developers... I see no reason to continue patiently throwing money at something that will never meet the hopes we've had for it. Cheers, and I hope to see some of my favorite pvp opponents in some of the upcoming pvp games.

Who's been in Black Desert? How is the open world in it?

    @ZOS_JessicaFolsom

You guys seem to think that our frustration comes from the lack of finite dates. It's so much more than that. We seized on the "No ETA" thing because it succinctly and accurately reflects both Firor's answers today and ESO generally: "Big things are coming (sometime). Keep p(l)aying until they're here!" This isn't about dates per se, but rather the broken promises of "We hear you and we're going to do that." "No ETA" is representative of the fact that this game has and continues to fail to change and to deliver.

You guys need to fix PvP performance. And if that can't happen immediately you should be blog detailing EXACTLY what's being done to fix it. Even if the majority of the playerbase can't understand the changes that are being drawn up, they should be published for the sake of accountability--because many of us simply don't believe in your commitment to Cyrodiil anymore. Prove me wrong and tell us what's being. But don't parade Wheeler around for a 5-minute segment of vague and indefinitely answers. It's absolutely insulting given the current state of PvP and reinforces the feeling many of us share that ZOS does not actually care about the future of PvP in ESO.

The short of it is this: The development team needs to be more accountable, Jessica. And that starts by cutting out the fluff and high fives and acknowledging that this game has persisting problems that are unacceptable for a AAA title like this. Stop telling us stuff is being done to fix the game and show us what you're doing and what you're thinking about doing.

    Aye, there's the rub.

I suspect that post re-"balance", there will still be a ton of people complaining about what is OP.

I'm just curious which MMO is a good reference point for balanced PvP with separate class skill lines. I haven't played any others.

You guys are doing fine, your game is great! My most favorite game of all time. Love your eso live shows! I fully understand things take time especially if you wanna do it right and I look forward to when we get all the new stuff! To the rest of you on this forum Hacuna matata!!

tbh me and many others are still no where near the cap. My guess is they took a look at the statistics and thought it would be a good idea to only give it a minor increase. If that's the case, then I don't see the problem in trying to keep CP balance as much as possible.

But there's always going to be loads of players below the CP cap. This because there's realistically speaking thousands of new people starting out this game every week. Just as many people quitting.

If ZoS needs to wait until "many others" are near the CP cap, than we have to wait forever, because the population keeps changing constantly. Huge chunk of the population will always be below.

That was kinda the purpose of the catch up system. When the cap goes up, that system gets buffed again and again so newer players wont be to far behind.

But right now they're not doing anything. Older and loyal players gets no CP progression. They wont increase the cap at all until spring or summer 2016 and by than only with a fluff number. So it feels like they're just pushing the CP system aside right now.

Seriously how could they add any new skill lines when the ones that are in game are still broken?

That was pretty much exactly what he said. Yes they want to add skill lines in the future, but they want to get what we already have balanced and such first.

there will NEVER be balance in this game when the DEVs do not play their game.

    agreed.

And they basically won't - simply because for them the game is WORK, and in their spare time they want to get away from WORK. So why the heck should they play it in their spare time?

51 cp per DLC sounds fair to me. What were you guys expecting?

By dark brotherhood we'll be able to get a 120cp passive as well as a 75cp passive for each of the three main trees

Maybe I misheard it because Brian sort of blurted some things out at the same time in a slightly confusing manner but I think he might have accidentally let slip that the DB DLC will have a PvP element to it. I'd need to go back and listen to the video again but I thought that was what I heard. Did anybody else catch that?

Edit: Yep, about the 28 minute mark on the replay he mentions it.

Also, nobody is happy that they are going to make towns in Cyro and districts in IC capture-able? Should add some new spice to the dynamics I would think. Some of the best battles I have been in are the ones not at the major keeps or on the direct routes between them.
