Ranged Stamina sorcerer build advice

I think I finally have my build. I have spent tons of money in game on respecs between magika and stamina and I think I have the combo i'mlooking for. I'm a bow and resto staff sorc. I started using the AOE dot skill for bow comboed with the aoe magika lightning adn I am rolling now. I have the first arrow skill specced, then silver shards, aoe bow skill, aoe magika, and boundless storm. This has worked extremely well and I am tearing things up. My second bar is surge, silver shards, dot heal, filler skill, run prison.

So far at 26 I can solo all regular mobs and duoed a public dungeon with a tank mowing down 5-6 mobs at a time. Anything I should tweak or consider for long term play?

Being that your bow damages scales off of stamina, and your Liquid Lighting scales off of magicka, do you feel like your only getting mediocre damage output from the two, as opposed to greater damage from sticking with either stamina only or magicka only? What does your build look like and how did you distribute your attributes?

I am 5 health and 21 stamina right now I think. The key for me is the two aoe's together tick for around 700 dmg/sec. Also silver shards is about the hardest hitting spammable ability I have access to, but its expensive. combining that with the dots kills groups very fast. I kill them with my lightning buff on before they can hurt me.

I had given up on a stam build before this and went all pet magika and was just destroying things. It was way too easy. I thought there has to be away to get better dmg as a stam sorc at range. I realized that the pets did two things: they were essentially a dot and they kept the mob off me. If I could similuate that without a pet, I was in busiiness. So I saw an old bow build that I modified and so far its working well and I am having a blast.

Well, if it's working for you then go for it. But that seems like a whole hodgepodge of stuff that doesn't work well together at all, especially the resto staff on a Stamina build.

Pretty much any build works at low level, if you try to do anything at V10+ with that build it's just not going to work.

I am currently rolling a Sorc Pet build, using my Clannfear as a tank while I dump Liquid Lighting on the mob. I've found that the Clannfear really only draws aggro from a single enemy, which means that I'm still duking it out with the remaining enemies. I will probably continue to use the pet build until I've leveled skills up a bit more, and then switch to a primarily magicka based build. I might consider using a 2H weapon on my 2nd bar in conjunction with Critical Surge to up my DPS, but I'm going to have to feel out my build as I go.

At this level this fresto staff is the only way I have to heal myself without going two handed or using undaunted. I have seen several builds, even stamina, that use resto for the ward only. At later levels I would like to pick up vigor. As to hodgepodge what else do you think is not working together?

It was really just the resto staff, I misread your post and thought you were using Crystal shard. My personal opinion though, would be to ditch the resto staff, the heals from critical surge are enough for you to sustain yourself, and being a sorc you have Empowered Ward that gives a good shield and upps your healing from Critical Surge. Instead, I would use 2 bows, one set up for single target DPS, the other for AOE.

The single target bar would just have lethal arrow and poison injection from the bow line (replace Pioson Injection with Magnum shot if you have to kit something around, like a world boss), then critical surge, bound armaments, and any other Sorc ability for your last slot (I like Dark deal so I can get some stamina if I need it, another good choice would be Empowered Ward), with flawless dawnbreaker as your ultimate for that extra weapon power.

You want as many Sorc abilities on your bar as possible because of Expert Mage in the Storm calling line, which gives 2% weapon power per Sorc ability slotted.

On your AOE bar, I would use acid spray, scorched earth, liquid lightning, Thundering Presence, and Bound Armaments (so you don't have to re-cast it when you change bars), with either Flawless Dawnbreaker again or Meteor from the mages guild line as you ultimate.

Also, make sure you put most of your blue champ points into Thaumaturge, since most of the Bow's damage come from poison, and Thaumaturge upps that damage by a significant amount. Put the rest into Precise Strikes and Piercing, with more in Precise Strikes than Piercing. Piercing is really only important for PvP. NPC's don't have a lot of armor.

This is just my opinion, but it should be some pretty spectacular DPS.
