Do you realize what you are asking? You are asking if voice chat should be implemented, voice chat already exists. I don't know exactly why you think it's not already there. So, I vote no.

I never said I was against adding a text chat, it is just naive to demand the addition into the IC DLC which is basically complete.
Also why would you want to put the addition of text chat behind a paywall, you have to buy IC one way or another.
If they add it is should be in a general free core patch for all.

No kidding. I think they wanted to try something new and for that I give them credit. Having built in voice chat is great but it doesn't replace the need for text chat. It is time they admitted that this doesn't work and that they have crippled their game. I love this game but it is just so lonely. I have to keep voice off due to the crap that spews out out me speakers. Not sure how much longer I am going to keep logging in.

And they would have display our characters names in the name plate along with our PSN ID and gamertag.AaronLannister wrote: »AaronLannister wrote: »

It really wasn't because they wanted to try something new, if you watched the interview one of the developers just said that console gamers were essentially too lazy to use KB's.
Words that are pre-set to use aren't anything new either. The Whole Immersion thing is an excuse, if they really wanted "Immersion" they wouldn't have allowed mods nor text chat on the PC version.

I'm guessing they ran out of time and money bringing ESO to console and had no choice but to scrap text chat. The completely useless quick chat that got added seems like just an afterthought.
I wish someone would explain how listening to Larry the trucker arguing with his wife while his kids are crying and screaming in the background is supposed to help me feel more immersed in the fantasy world of The Elder Scrolls. How can you have immersion in a fantasy with someone's real life blaring in your ears?

Don't worry, the thread will reach 50+ pages just like the last one did and a mod will lock it for whatever violation they deem appropriate just to bury the issue. The fact that the previous thread was the largest thread ever on these forums and it was locked without ever being acknowledged by ZoS (not even a lurk) says everything about where this issue stands.

I really, really don't understand why it's not in the game.
OH and not to mention the use of a keyboard would allow for keyboard shortcuts for menus and emotes!

It hit 94 pages before being locked; has another thread broke 100 pages? To be fair the thread was locked and the topic is still hotly debated. If active I have no doubt it would still be growing.
