Alot of people lately have been advertising over open mic about duplicating money and motifs is this true?

Not sure if it's true, but if so you have to be carefull. It was possible to dublicate items right after this game was launched on pc and a lot of people got banned for exploiting it.

Someone probably told someone else how there WAS an exploit when PC launched and that person told another person and that person told another person and that person told another person and that person told another person and that person told another person and that person told another person and that person told another person and that person told another person and that person told another person and now there's a dupe exploit on consoles.

No. It's a scam. They take small amounts of money and "double it" most of these people are stooges in on it. Then someone walks up lays down 10,000 to be doubled and the person disappears.

Same with valuable motifs. When they get it in trade, they log out.

    Here it is in action:

People are selling hearts for 1.5k all over. Just go search for them at guild traders you will find some. Just keep searching all the time for good deals you will run into a good deal sooner or later.

Well, to be fair, at least as far as Daedra Hearts goes, they are EASY to obtain if you know where to look. I can easily get 10+ per hour but I can't even sell them for 1k a piece at this point so I'm guessing people have figured out that they are super easy to get.

As people level up all of the "upper tier" stuff is going to drop massively in price.

Doesn't necessarily mean they're duped. Maybe it's just me, but motifs seem to be more common in Cyrodiil. Always loot stuff while you're questing in towns.

The part where Cyrodiil stuff isn't flagged as stolen, so you can just keep snarfing items down may help a bit, there.

ZOS is trying to find a way to keep the game free to play by monetising what it can. You live in a free market ecomony, Ill put it into simple (probably patronising) terms

    Do you work for free?

Would you describe asking for a wage for your time as in anyway underhand?

Or you you expect to get paid and everyone else to pick up your bills?

That is what I am insinuating: ZOS dupes items for profit and therefore it is okay. If they duped items for the lulz, that would be different matter.

Gold is easy enough to get, it doesn't need to be sold in the cash shop. I'm spending gold left and right on bag upgrades and feeding my mount on a new level 10 character and I still have 5000 gold. When I get to 6000 I'll buy 10 more bag slots and start over again collecting gold until I can buy the next 10 slots. I did the same thing on my main character and at VR14 even spending 50k gold recently on stuff for people in my guild I still have 220k gold on just that character.

    And...

How can you... what? Under what...

    I...

How can you not understand the difference between an end user exploit and the developers selling in game items?

I mean, do you constantly look at the merchant NPCs and go, "yep, that's some major league dupin' goin' on there, yessirree. They be givin' me all ah that duped gold."

I just... it boggles the mind.

Of course there are differences, such as, among other things, that a duper usually does not ask for dollars for duping, which would be difficult to facilitate transaction, or that ZOS can produce any item, not just multiply existing assets. But there are also similarities.
Suppose a duper can actually dupe items and is willing to do so for a fee in dollars. Dude comes, gives him his Sword of Gloom, $5 and bam! He gets the second sword for no effort, no quest completed, no boss killed, nothing. How is that different from bribing ZOS to give you fancy crafting motif?
I also suspect that many of the very same people who seek services of a duper would make perfect cash shop customers. After all, they want convenient and time-saving access to items.

Sometimes the folks being "stooges" are legit; Guy A will double the low golds waiting for a big one. So if guys B and C bring him 2k each, they will probably get their 4k. Guy A will keep that up until someone drops a real pile of cash in their lap, and then he runs.

Well, it's awfully hard to kill someone with a book.

That's not an academic distinction. There are MMOs out there that will sell you more powerful whatevers for real money. It's usually called Pay to Win, even in situations where the advantage isn't insurmountable.

ESO doesn't do that. You want to craft a sword at your level? You can do that. You want it to look cool? You can do that. You want it to look like that crystalline green one on my back? You can either dig up an Ancient Elf motif on your own, buy one off another player, or give ZoS some cash. You want to craft an identical sword, but you don't pick the style, you just take the default offered to you by your race? It's not any better, it's the exact same sword you can already make. It just looks different.
    JamilaRaj wrote: »

Ironically, the one thing you've said that's actually accurate. Well, part of it anyway. Most players who will buy from a the grey market would rather buy their stuff direct from the developers... what they want, and if the company is willing to provide it, however, are an entirely different issue.

Back when the gold sellers were still a thing, the top item buys from them seemed to be upgrade stones and rare style stones... you know, things that aren't in the Crown store, along with motifs, which still won't let you kill people any better than you could with a more generic looking sword.
