Feels weak. Sure I can cloak a lot as a magicka build but it would be nice to have my attacks be a threat, even if only to those not wearing lots of nirnhoned armor.

Well, I would be dead long before a stamblade or any other character runs low on resources. I agree that magicka is better at sustain (which is why I like it for PvE) but sustain doesn't help me when I hit like a wet noodle and die soon after.chevalierknight wrote: »It not weak you're thinking magic nightblade is like stamblade you beat a stamblade as a magic by waiting till they blow there load then ult and pond them
Magic nightblades have better regen even when max magic build then a stamblade
Just wait for the burst to die down then boom love my mnb drop teleport get cripling grass it better the dot is powerfull
I've tried a somewhat sappy NB but never in PvP. I have a resto-destro weapon swap going but the latter, along with projectile class skills, is typically reflected right back at me. Mostly I just look for players near death in larger battles and reap them, but that gets old and is highly situational.Depends which kind of build you wanna play. For a tankytanky saptank with sb, spell power doesnt really matter and is usually very low. If you run a squishy light armor dps build, then imo you need at least 2000+ unbuffed if you run with dw since you need a huge burst to kill (full dmg setup go up to 2500 unbuffed) if you run destro, you can go for less, I would say above 1500.

Healing Ward, Annulmnet, Mirage... all at once. But again, it doesn't really matter what class. I get CC'd a lot to keep me out of stealth and then comes the 8-20K+ hits from various abilities and weapons. Either I finally manage to stealth away or I die.chevalierknight wrote: »If you die before a stamblade runs out you just need to look at your build. You're using healing word right? As a mb you should be using that i play stam and magic as a stam i hate fighting mb
Mark target and timed stuns play a huge role in this fight.
As to the OP's question, if you have 250+ CP's 1800 md is a bit low, I'd shoot for 2k in stealth. Unless you are running a Whitestrakes/Siphoning Attacks sustain build. I personally run 2300 md and run drinks for 1500+ mag/stam reg with 20k health and 29k mag.
Untill nirn is fixed, when going against good players some fights will be rather long, regardless how much md you have.
my 2 cents.
You need to up your max magicka as well as spell power to see some good damage numbers as some skills scale off both. I'm also running about the same spell power as you but have 36k Magicka with my Dark Elf NB.
You are right, Mark can be situational. With that said, only one stam build usually has a purge on their bar, Templars. But it's worth using it on everyone at least to find out if they can/will purge it. I also wouldn't use food in pvp unless you have a lot of champ points (600+). The sustain drinks give far outweighs the damage/health and allows you more gear options.
As for gear, I wouldn't go more than 4 martial knowledge.
4 Martial- 4 Cyrodiil's Light-2 Adroitness-2 Torugs (DW set-up) This is a nice damage set and extremely easy to get ahold of.
4 Martial-3 Cyrodiil's Light-2 Adroitness-2 Torugs (Staff set-up)
There are many set combo's you can use, even more than Stam. You can mix and match damage sets with sustain and so forth. It's best if you gear towards your particular playstyle and build weaknesses, I have found. Rather than follow somones gear or spec choices identically.
Don't forget Inevitable/Proxy Det. I find these abilities priceless. I use Inevitabe in the ranged build, and Proxy in the melee.
Edit- Also do yourself a favor and use Detect+Major Sorcery+Magicka pots.

Doesn't look like I can afford a meaningful upgrade, so I will just go back to my all VR14 PvE armor.
EDIT: Weird, now my max magicka shows up as 27K or 28K when I weapon swap no matter which gear. Wonder if my add-on is screwing up. Hmm, /reloadui isn't making a difference. Oh well, either way, 500dmg increase is not what I was hoping for
Didn't have Warlock on, might be because I took Swallow Soul off of the one bar to add Mark back on. Anyway, at some point when I as PvPing my spell power went up to 2100 for some reason and stayed that way for a long while (didn't see anything on buff track), so, who knows about that.Magicka Flood or Magicka controller passives.tinythinker wrote: »Well, I dropped another VR14 piece that was from the PvE gear and a VR13 test piece but also upgraded a few from VR11 to VR12 (crappy VR1 rings unchanged), and made sure the armor was all purple.
