New siege weapon: 40k damage

    Folks need to stop qq about siege. If you dont want to die to artillery fire stay out of range or move. Rapid maneuver will give you plenty of speed and remove snares to move. You got purge to remove the dots.

    Siege is perfectly counterable, if you choose not run said skills that's your choice, just don't expect to live she shot by it

    Coldharbor siege doesn't even work for me. I've put down THREE now, and each time I can't interact with them, and the siege just sits there... and crumbles, breaking.

    ZOS; if y'all wanna provide access to stronger siege, fine, but just make them expensive as heck at siege merchants. If I want to Pve, I will go to the PvE zones. I come to cyrodiil to PvP.
    I think ZOS is trying to create some reason to PVP with small groups of people. Sometimes I get to the dark anchors in Cyrodiil or into the caves in order to kill a few players. And sometimes it works. But they should add more PVP oriented contents and more reasons to team up in small groups if they want to remove the zerg.

    Only thing I would like to see is a color change for "friendly" siege weapons.

    I'm really confused atm with the siege damage. I'm a sorcerer in light armor and a vamp on top of that.
    I get 12k + 8k DoT damage from fire ballista, treb and coldharbour siege is instant kill. Yesterday I changed to heavy armor to try and see the difference. I was surprised how little difference it actually makes. Same damage numbers with heavy armor Oo So I changed back to light.

    Now the confusing part: I have 23k life. A fire ballista should NOT kill me right (only does 20k dmg)? But it does! My guess is that the death recap window does not show the correct numbers because I'm a vamp and get more damage therefore? Can someone confirm this?
    The second thing is: are shields not working against siege damage? I ran 5 shields (light and heavy armor, lightning form, healing ward and hardening ward) at the time I was hit by a siege and got the exact same numbers as without my shields!??? Is that a bug or intented?

    I really hope someone can answer that (maybe ZOS themselfes - because you are not answering my ticket :P ). Thank you and see you in Cyro!

    Having a healer helps but also elusive mist as a vampire is amazing. Movement speed buff to avoid them and 75% damage reduction. Fire is not even a big concern if you know how to play a vampire.

    If I did not know how to play my vamp I would have removed it by now ;)

    Just the two questions:
    1. is the death recap calculating the bonus damage for vamps and showing the correct numbers
    2. are shields working
    ???

    With all the lag going on its sometimes really hard to not get hit once in a while.
    Please fix the game!

    Hm. got hit some templar with cold fire trebushet for 7k damage and 3k burning. For some reason i think it is cheating.

    Ok I really would say the siege weapons still don't hit hard enough and that change was awesome IMO.

    What really is just wrong, is the current pop of EP and DC is so high and I'm thinking they are using folks from the EU side to boost their numbers also.

    I do applaud them though for being able to gather so many players into a campaign to control it.

    Please stop the "travel to" option in pvp only.

    No siege! Siege bad! It burns...

    Now seriously, I think siege is hitting a bit too hard for some builds in particular (eg: vamps get the shaft big time since 90% of siege meant to kill players is fire). At first I thought it was a really bad decision, since dieing to siege and not players was not a real fight (im used to dieing to players...). Then i changed stuff and now spam purge like a mad man. It works (with perma-block) and i easily survive siege.

    Bottom line is that its true that siege is a killer for small groups against a keep or heavily defended resource. And although agreeing with the above poster that if siege should be able to insta kill it should take a day to set up and have a crew to man it, high dps siege makes sense in raid on raid action, which is I think the most common way to take keeps. It makes things more difficult, and thats good.

    PS - purge/class skills are effective against siege, roll dodge is not due to the crazy concept implemented where we cant see friendly siege from enemy one. On another note... I wouldnt mind friendly fire from siege :cold_sweat:

    do dolmen in cyrodiil, the reward chests are containing them quite often but not allways.

    Siege damage seems fine to me. I can't count how many times I've shot fire siege off walls at players who don't even bother moving. They just heal/shield/cleanse the damage right off. And if there is enough siege going their way they just move a little bit and 90% of the shots miss.
    • Sorcs have shields and Bolt for avoiding red circles.
    • Templars have a shield and class healz
    • Nightblades have cloak
    • Dragonknights...yeah you're right, DK's have no mitigation at all...

    And those are just class abilities on can use to counter siege (or any) damage.

    Of all the things that need addressing in cyrodiil, is this something we should be concerned with?

    Back then 80% of player base playing DK and they rant about siege damage being so hard. Now they're all playing Sorc or NB, satcking shields to the roof/streak away or just cloak, rant has stopped. Templars were always OP when it comes to siege damage thanks to the shield/heal/purify. And ofc blobs didnt even flinch once when they are being targetted.

    So yes siege is useless again. Only effective on pugs maybe. Every other thing is effective on pugs tho.
