So that means horses get 1 visual upgrade per 20 of a stat they get (not counting base stats), then 1 final visual upgrade (appears to be a blanket) for hitting lvl 50.
I was kinda hoping 2 stat visual upgrades, 1 at 20 and the final at 50...
Example:
Stam Stat:
20: Head Armor
50: Body Armor
Bagspace:
20: Saddle Bags
50: Merchant Saddle / comfy looking.
Speed:
20: Chain/leather mess
50: Horse shoes?3 -

My brown 17400 mare I managed to buy before I realized what a cheap ass I am and bought imp version got 7 yellow-ish white spots on her head on lvl 20, then on lvl 21 I got 2 saddle bags..
I'm not sure what to think of those spots? Was I blind for weeks and they've always been there, or did they really appear on lvl 20? After feeding the horse the next day I finally got backs, but man, what about those spots!?Edited by ArRashid on 20 May 2014 21:370 -

We need 100% infomation on the following
lvl 50 Only feed Apples
lvl 50 Only feed Oats

Do you know what defines the color of the blanket?
I have seen golden ones, blue ones and red ones, no matter the base type of horse it is.

OK, I asked a veteran in game and he confirmed what I thought:
- Blue blanket is for Dagerfall Covenant
- Red blanket is for Ebonheart Pact
- Yellow blanket is for Aldmeri Dominion

Maybe the Imperial horse has only one color?
Or, I see you are in the Psijic Order, so you went in game long before its release, right? Maybe the different colors weren't integrated to the game at the time, and maybe you've got your horses from that time, and their visuals aren't updated now?
I absolutely don't know.
But the explanation of the colors being linked to the alliances really looks like being the good and logical one and when you look at the screenshots of the Palomino horse in the store, it confirms it too (watch the characters' races and the blanket colors):

Anyway, I'll be able to confirm it, or not, in 20 days.
I'm currently leveling 3 different horses (the black one, the Imperial one and the Palomino one) in 3 different ways for one character in the Daggerfall Covenant.

✭✭@nolankotulan Just so you don't think I'm crazy, here are two Imperial horses, different builds, different factions, same blankets. It might be an Imperial thing, because nothing we created in beta carried over to live. If you can grab some in game screen shots of other blankets, I would love to see them.

And here it is; I finally maxed my three horses.
So, one single character in DC, 3 horses, 2 have a blue blanket, the imperial one has a golden one.
So it is, I think, definitly the imperial horse that doesn't have various factions colors.
Last question could be: is the imperial horse golden blanket the same as the AD's horses ones?
