Horse 'Armor' (First stage)!

Just like to show the first 'stage' of armor for a full speed (apple) horse that I finally reached to today... I didn't even know they had visual upgrades =O

Stats:

• Imperial Horse
• Level 21
• 35% Speed

What else has everyone else gotten? I'd like to see the others, and I think other people would also xD!

Seems like the gold blanket thing under the saddle is the lvl 50 upgrade. Just got it earlier this week.

Strangely, my horse has 65% speed, 11 stamina and 1 carrying, the extra stamina and carrying appeared when I fed it at lvl 49 o.o"

I know you get saddle bags on the horse when you hit twenty inventory. Currently working on a stamina horse. Rumor is it's supposed to increase the visuals again on the second 20 upgrades.

I'd love to see pictures of your horse! I hear that Stamina horses get actual armor, but I haven't seen one yet.

I'm wondering if the extra stats from the 42k horses count towards these upgrades or if, for example, you still have to upgrade capacity 20 times to get the bags.

I am wondering whether any of those visual attributes overlap each other. It would be great to see a combination of armor and saddle bags, for instance.

If not, then I hope they do not replace one another. I solely go for armor, and since I will most likely invest into speed as well, I do not want my armor get replaced by harness once at 35% speed.

Oh this is a nice easter egg-ish, my horse is 100% apple infused and i never quite notice theres any actual difference. I gotta pay more attention next time i login

You get the head armor for upgrading your horse to 20 stamina. Looks like you can mix and match.

What?! I thought that was the second stage of speed upgrades or something. All the pictures I've seen have it with either the saddle bags or the harness. That's pretty crappy if that's all you get for stamina.

Also that would really bum me out since I've already invested a lot into stamina on a 42k horse hoping to get some armor on him. Other than a silly metal horse hat that is.

I'm hoping that the stamina armour comes in stages- head first, then further barding, because if it's just head armour, it looks kind of stupid- like a fly cover.

Last night I got my Draft horse's stats to:
Level: 19 Speed: 24% Stamina: 20 Bag: 10.

I haven't received any physical change (not even the first). I'll keep this updated so that the thread stays alive. Hopefully more people will get involved with their experiences and we can figure this out.

The lack of information available about this game (game guides, player investigation, etc.) is definitely incredibly low compared to a common AAA mmo launch.

Just to clear some things up for you guys

Horses get appearance changes after 20 FEEDING'S in any particular stat, not after that stat reaches 20%. It doesn't matter which stat you start with, which horse you are using or whether you alternate feeding's; As soon as your total number of feeding's in a stat goes up to 20, it gets a change.

e.g., Horse (A) starts with 15% speed(sd), 10 stamina(st) 0 carrying capacity(cc)
Jon feeds Horse (A) an apple(sd) 20 times, horse A now has an appearance change.
Jon feeds the same horse (now 35% sd, 10st, 0cc) 20 grains(st), horse (A) now has an ADDITIONAL appearance change.

etc

Again, your total stat values (speed %, stamina #, etc) don't matter at all, it is the total number of feeding's that's important here.

As far as which particular appearance changes you get...

- 20 feeding's in speed grants your horse webbing under it's sattle.
- 20 feeding's in stamina grants your horse head barding(armour)
- 20 feeding's in carrying capacity grants your horse saddlebags

It is currently unknown whether 20 additional feeding's past 20 will result in a further appearance change (e.g., 40 total st feeding's results in full horse armour rather than just the head), we'll know soon enough as people reach that point.

If someone fed their horse once every 24 hours since launch, the 40th feed would be tomorrow (May 9th for America).

Another update:
My horse has reached 40 feedings in speed and no changes =/
Current stats: 55% speed, 10 stamina, 0 carrying. Level 41. Perhaps it's the next one, guess i'll find out tomorrow xD.

Yea i know, i was lazy

Btw - as we allready knew, that we didnt get visual upgrade at 40 feeds - im thinking that second upgrade we'll get on level MAXED horse

if this is indeed true - then well in seriously dissapointed, it looks that second speed ugrade is some crappy gold blanket, mostly hidden under sadlle
Judging by that, upgrades to other lines probably will be similiary unimpresive.

Also second thought -this horse have 2 speed upgrade AND stamina upgrade (head armor) How is that even possible?
Is this a case of "marketing department on the loose?"

A few pictures like horses in ESO should look like (all pics from LOTRO, just some samples cos there are like hundreads of mount in there, also warhorses are highly player customizable)

Really would like some nice armor appearance for the mounts. Maybe down the road like dyes. Really liked the armor you could buy in Oblivion for your horse.

At level 50, my pack horse got a blanket and grew some horse bangs. I put on the Kollopi Essence disguise so it was easier to see the saddle blanket.

Yes, and the fx stack. Armor only covers the face of the horse. Chains/leather harness is for Speed. Saddlebags are for cargo.

Multiple people with Level 50 horses have confirmed there is only one visual upgrade for each item...a level 40 stamina horse will look just like the level 20 version. But they do stack with each other.

No, the speed upgrade is that harness that covers it's rump and shoulders.
