Explination of PVP Mechanics - Struggling to understand - Require help - XBOX ONE FORMAT

I was just wondering if someone could give me a brief explination of the mechanics behind PVP. I am new to ESO.... but have had a lot of experience of playing characters built for PVP on MMORPG's, as well as playing Elder Scrolls games for the last 13 years, and I just don't get the mechanics behind the PVP. There is no where in game where these mechanics are explained and as to why character stats are so dramatically altered.
Before I started my character I leveled each character class to level 10 to give me a rough idea on what class I would prefer to play, so I could feel investing my time into the character would he a worth while experience. I settled for the Templar class purely on versitility, and also because of the prospect of future respec that could completely change my game play.

I researched and learnt what I could about ESO build fundimentals on the way I wished to play, and decided I was going to play my Templar as a Primary Healer/Secondary Mage hybrid, and placed all of my attribute point within Magica, as I kind assumed that Magica would be what my character would be in constant need of, especially playing a farcasting role. This is where I started to become baffled behind the fundimentals of PVP......

I reached level 15 and gained my secondary skill bar. My first skill bar was pretty much all healing abilities, some of which from the Templar's healing skill line Restoring Light, the rest coming from my Restiration staff skill tree. Using a Restiration staff.

My secondary skill bar contained yet again a Restiration staff, but my skills this time contained skills taken from the Dawn's Wrath skill line.... with one instant cast healing skill there purely for situations where I would require to heal quickly and using my controllers dpad would waste valuable seconds that could save my life or a team mates. Both skill sets had Nova as an Ultimate as I was informed it can be a devistating DOT attack, and am fond of DOT spells.

I set my gear up to have exclusively magica gaining stat increases, wanting to increasey magica to the highest possible range to ensure I'm never too low on magica reserves. I went for light armour because of the magic bonus with the Light Armour skill tree.

I went into PVP with a friend, aware that my low level character and mediocre gear probably wouldn't hold up that well, but knew there would be others in the same situation, most of which would unlikely have the natural talent for PVP that I possessed, thinking it would be interesting, could get a few kills, and get my first taste of things to come.

My first hour or two I did OKAY, gained about 10k AP, wasn't too displeased with... but then I realised upon looking at my character screen that my stat numbers had greatly increased, and this was where I actually started to become really confused.

My PVE stats where as follows:

Max Magica - 5740
Max Health - 3809
Max Stamina - 2988

Magica Recovery - 271
Health Recovery - 113
Stamina Recovery - 118

Spell Damage - 326
Spell Critical - 10%
Spell Resistance - 712

Weapon Damage - 312
Weapon Critical - 10%
Physical Resistance - 712

But my PVP stats where completely different, in ways I couldn't understand, also as follows:

Max Magica - 15139
Max Health - 28860
Max Stamina - 15139

Magica Recovery - 671
Health Recovery - 363
Stamina Recovery - 589

Spell Damage - 1198
Spell Critical - 10%
Spell Resistance - 8162

Weapon Damage - 1141
Weapon Critical - 10%
Physical Resistance - 8162

This is all with an attribute distribution of:

Magica - 14
Health - 0
Stamina - 0

I maybe would have got the fundimentals if all of my numbers where at a 300% increase to my PVE stats.... but the fact that with 0 health attributes my health was my highest number by far, also seeing as I had 0 stamina and that number was identical to my magica, I really just couldn't understand it.

Not only that.... I then realised that even if I took all of my armour of which had magica enchantments... my magica stayed the same -.-

Another thing that also got to me a bit, was on my roaming travels, I would come across some players around my own level, and would completely destroy them. Also destroying someone 1 vs 1 who was level 26, 11 levels greater than me.

But other times I would come across people similar levels to me, that would almost seem invincible in comparison.

I am aware through my years playing MMORPG's that it is likely on ESO you can create "TOON" characters as such, like with most MMO's.... but these guys where at a scale that I just could not understand and a complete other level. These guys seemed to be mainly Nightblade's and Sorcerers.... but I had also came across both these class types and had no problems defeating them using simple tactics that can be employed with any MMO.

If someone could explain why I've found these problems and the fundimentals of what I am doing wrong it would be a great help.
And if someone has actually taken the time to read all of this I applaud you and give you many thanks.

I am aware I'm a very low level, and most likely have some of the worst gear imaginable which is why I could be getting dropped like I'm nothing by experienced players even my own level with better gear etc.. but just cannot understand the stat system mainly and why my dedication to magica has counted for nothing.

Once again many thanks if you can HELP!

First - quite loooong post as for newcomer...
Second - explanation (i dont know reality of Xbox's, but can explain how it works on PC):
In PvP your stats are rised to ~ veteran rank 1 (if not to vr14), simply to give you fair chances - so character with "lower" lvl like you with 15 vs 26 can beat opponent with ease or even maxed out player. Plus in Cyro youre gaining some buffs like 5k of HP more. Even I with vr14 NB in almost full "right" gear, ~200 CP have "sometimes" insanelly difficult and long battles with low leveled characters
Lacking stats from enchanting gear - that was pretty common problem at the launch of the PC version, sooo... this should be same issue, time maaaaybe will fix it [also try to relog, restart game, turn off UI add-ons (if exists those at all)]
    Hope that helped a bit.

Am sorry about long post I explain things with far to much depth than is need sometimes! Think you have pretty much just covered it! I think I get it now. My team had a few elder scrolls in possession so am guessing the health increase where due to buffs?

Still cannot understand the almost invincibility especially from the Nightblade's but I guess that could just be down to the fact I'm a noob and these are skilled players from PC who already know there skill set like the back of their hand. Thanks for your time!

Buff from Cyro is called "Battle Spirit" - rest of "enchantment" comes from owned keeps/scrolls, like EXP/gold gain bonus.
And yes, some players from PC version started "new" journey through tamriel once again - maybe because its Xbox, want another challenge or simply see how it work.

Not edited screenshot of my toon (PC version) - for stats comparing (in Cyrodiil, of course):

tryng to give you some answeres,.

as it has been said allready entering cyroddil gives you several buffs.
    1. a 5k HP buff that you will recieve whenever you enter cyrodiil
    2. if you are not VR1 yet you will be virtually buffed to v1 with a balanced stat distributiuon.
    3. severel minor buffs depending on the keep and scroll situation in the campaign you have chosen and if your alliance has an active emperor at that time.

Sorcs and NB are commolny known as the most suitable solo & micro group chars (up to 4 players) especially player wich transferred to consoles from the PC are likly to pick those classes and thus will have a significant expirience and equipment advantage (set bonis -> wich perform the best etc) in skill usage like shields, bolt escape in term of the sorc or cloak, fear roll dodgeing in regards of the NB.
spelling and grammar errors are free to be abused

Thank you both for clearing this up for me. I understand this now. I guess my class will just excel in large group combat. To be honest I guess it was logical the NB and SORC excel in this areas, that kind of character does on almost every other game lol

I'm guessing toons are created on ESO simply by passing down really good gear to a low level character? By doing this they gain the stat increases that otherwise aren't possible at that level, as well as the stat boost given to equal v1? Do their skills have reduced magicka/stamina costs or something due to the skills being considerably lower level than that of an advanced character?

Battle leveling needs some dev attention - it's the main reason I've stayed out of BwB since 1.6

    Things that work:
    -5 piece set bonuses
-2 to 4 piece set bonuses to weapon/spell crit
    -Food & drink buffs
    -Mundus stone
    -Passives which provide % bonuses
    -Cost reduction jewelry enchants
-The Trait on your gear (though I doubt -reinforced/infused work since they modify the armor/enchant value on the gear which does NOT work)
-Weapon damage buff from Flawless Dawnbreaker

    The main problem is:
    -You can't differentiate your character
-Heavy armor is less relevant due to static armor values

    It would be nice if:
    - Your ratio of health/magika/stam were preserved
    - The type of armor effected your resist totals

But above all, what really bothers me is:
This is the system intended for new players, yet the mechanics are opaque/not documented. It is by far harder to understand how your gear effects your character, then once you've hit vet1.

@ZOS_GinaBruno any chance that this system will be looked at, or at least documented?

Took this from another thread I remembered when reading your post. The bold should help assuming Battle Leveling is the same on PC and console. Bolded are the only things that affect your stats with Battle Leveling turned on

    For the Covenant!
    Svvord - magicka NB
    Lavv - magicka DK
    Povver - stamina NB
    Psylint - stamina NB
    Yelruc - magicka Sorc

"Toon" meaning is used instead of "character" word, also you cant "downgrade" any of possible equipment - if sword is for vr10 so its for vr10. Here in ESO some ideas from other games doesnt exist at all (or Shoegorath hides them in pocket). Resources cost (Stamina/Magicka) of lower level character are, would say, funny - they're not % of max ST/MG nor flat value are stick to 'em. Wat is more you dont have, according to your response (or what i understood), skills bound to actually equipped armor - of course here are some special bonuses from sets like Warlock, Blood Spawn, Hist Bark etc. Going further, all of bonus from crafted/dropped grear are scaled to level they're wearable - so you cant wear vr1 staff when your character hasnt grwon enough. Comparing both, rudely called "lows" and high-ends toons - first ones have more basic stats like HP/ST/MG when higher levels have more specialization in one of many possible ways. Thats what is called "Battle Level" what was mentioned in post above.
