overwhelmed with all the skills

orpheus148
I'm a bit overwhelmed with all the skills in the game. I just don't know what to pick. I didn't realize that all the guilds have skill trees along with weapons too. And having to balance that with your class skill trees. I'm having a hard enough time deciding what to choose between assassination and shadow. Do some people not use there class skills at all? The stuff in night blade didn't really look good for an archer.

Certain skills are viable for certain builds if you have answers you should google different builds pertaining to your character. Youtube is also good for build videos just have to search.
    Wisherr, Dragonknight, Haderus, NA Server.
Wisher of Naught, Nightblade, Haderus, NA Server.

Best part of the game is figuring out all the skills and how to combine them, IMO. Sure; it will be daunting at first, but just take it one step at a time and try different things.

I am new to this game so correct me if I am wrong.

I am incredibly *** with things like this, I hate to think I am spending skill points in the wrong place so I have looked this kind of thing up before. The research I have done has led me to believe that you will get an overwhelming amount of skill points through the game (some people think too many).

Therefore you will more than likely max out alot of classes as you play anyway, so dont get too caught up on where to spend your points as you will get plenty of opportunity to max things out.

I think you also get the option to re assign skill points too.

If theres any pros here, please, put me right.

Think of your 5 skill bar slots as tricks up your sleeve. Not everyone can ever have all of them in any fight. Some people mix and match for different things they know they are about to do. I don't.

Look at each skill and ask yourself "what does it bring to the table? what can it do to increase my effectiveness in the playstyle I'm going for?". Bring a load out of tricks, each of which brings some different utility to you for multiple scenarios.

Bring something to escape, bring something to open with, to prime your next attack, something to control crowds with / shut down / stun enemies for when there are too many enemies, etc. Of course you need your goto damage dealer.

It all depends on what you want to do.

For a healer, it's easy. You bring your regen over time, a strong, instant heal/protection, a warding spell to protect low people, and then also on that bar something to deal damage + heal all allies with.

Just think of your bar as a cohesive set with skills that interplay nicely together to get you doing the style you want to do.

Over time, you will respec and refine your build after you try out new things and find they don't fit nicely.

Yep, it can be quite a challenge to figure out what you want. However, what I find is there are 2 to 3 skills that I use in most fights. Now, these two skills change as Ievel, either from Morphs or I unlock other skills to use. The other 2 to 3 skills are support skills or just skills I am leveling but not using (because I want to unlock the Morphs or level the Class Skill Line)

The overwhelming amount of skills does not occur until the VR Ranks, and then, if your also crafting, high into the VR ranks. If your character is just a fighter, then you can have all the skills points you need by low VR Ranks or even 40 to 50. I have two characters that only use one weapon type. One who is not a crafter had an excess of skills by the time she was in the 40's. The other who is a crafter is still skill point deficient at VR12.

Yes, you can respect, in the second zone for your alliance. You can respec all skills and just morphs. It costs 50 Gold per point. Same with Attributes. Attributes might cost more, don't remember.

The biggest hurdle is L15 to L30. One, your trying to develop your second weapon skill, two, this is when you start unlocking some cool skills in your class and weapon lines, and three, you start getting the Passives to unlock. That is the biggest struggle to pick and choose what points to assign to what skills as they are all so nice to have.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    This.

For my damage bars, I usually run a burst damage attack, a damage over time attack, an execute, a mobility ability like charge or pull or knock back, and some kind of self buff or shield.
