dk nord ardinent flame passive questions amd burning talons under draconic abilities

ok I was wondering about a few passives listed under ardent flame.
kindling and world in flame passives are listed under ardent flame however one says it "increases damage of flame abilities and the other increases damage of "flame based area of effect abilities

now there are a few abilities NOT UNDER ardent flame skill line that cause fire/burning damage such as burning talons (thing that looks like a claw) now I am wondering if the ardent flame passives affect any other abilities that are not listed under ardent flame but they do do flame damage.

not enough info on the powers it seems.

also for maximizing damage and such are there any6 good addons I can use to toy with the powers and see whats affecting what ect to maximize damage

I too need to know the answer.. The passive ability Kindling says it increases flame burning dmg. Does this effect ALL burning, or JUST the burning abilities under ardent flame?

I was asked in a dungeon by a Vet level sorcerer to use my flame ability so that his fire attacks will do more damage, So from this I assumed that the enemy will have X % of resistance taken away therefor takes more damage from any fire.

It will help any ability that does actual fire dmg in aoe, Talons is magic dmg so it wont get the buff, but a destro staff with impulse will.

Kindling and World in Flames affects all Fire Based damage dealing skills/effects.
Burning Talons has burning effect, so this passives affects Burning Talons.

The Kindling passive increases the burning damage, so 66% more damage from burning > more fire DOT damage.
The World in Flame passive increases flame damage of area of effect damage by 6% > more fire AOE damage.

Burning Talons applies fire DOT so the damage is increased by the Kindling passive.

He was probably aiming at Engulfing Flames (Fiery Breath morph), this abilities debuffs the target so they take 10% more fire attacks.

There are 3 status effects you have a chance of proccing when dealing elemental damage:

Chilled - Snared 40% for 5 sec.
Concussion - Reduces damage done by ~10% for 4 sec
Burning - Flame damage over time for 3 sec (tics 3 times, every 1.5sec)

Any fire damage you deal has a small chance of also causing a low damage Burning DOT. The kindling passive increases this damage by 66%.

Note that kindling has no effect on other Fire DOTs like Burning Talons, Fiery Breath, or Searing Strike. (Besides the small chance to proc the burning effect)
