Title says it all. I am not using a steam version of the game, yet I cannot buy crowns.

I will look back and find it.. but pretty sure if you purchased the game through steam, you need to buy them through steam. Even if you have never ever launched ESO through the steam client.

..Did you buy the game through steam? I realize you're not using steam.

IF that is the case.. some info can be found here. Looks like you need to use the steam client if that's where you bought the game
So if I install Steam and buy one package (looks like I have to buy them all [Add All DLC to Cart]) I'll get a key that I can apply in my Account settings? As just mentioned I do not have Steam installed nor do I use Steam in anyway for any other games, including this one. I simply bought the game through Steam, got my key, and applied it to my (your) Account.

The way Steam delivers purchased codes, you will need to download the Steam client, yes. Once you purchase the crown pack you want, the code for it will be delivered to you via the Steam client. You can then take that code and redeem it in our account system: https://account.elderscrollsonline.com/

If that is NOT the case, put in a ticket with customer support for sure.

I bought the key from a third party seller, but it wasnt a steam key in format. I just logged in on the site put it on my account and started downloading. Is it possible I received a key that would have linked to a steam account had I bought it from steam? I'll give it a go through steam and see how it works. Thanks for the link.

I have the same issue and i did open a ticket about this too. I bought my gamecode from g2a and it was clearly stated that it isnt a steam key, used it on the website, worked perfectly. The Cs guy said my code is a steam code, but he cant comment on how is this possible. He also mentioned that they are working on a solution to let us buy crowns / fix this issue in the near futute.

I tried my code on steam too after this conversation and it was invalid. I guess we meed to wait for them to fix this.

I would think its not a steam key you purchased, although I cant be sure. Feel free to check the steam idea but definitely talk to customer support. I hope you guys get this figured out!

    Hey there @timesplitter34b14_ESO,

A large majority of the time, this occurs when a third party retailer sells a Steam key to a non-Steam user. If you contact Customer Support, they will be able to verify the type of key that you have.

Yes, Customer support has said my key was a steam key, which was listed as non-steam on Kinguin. So I can't buy crowns either way because I do not own the game on steam.
