My suggestions for pickpocketing...

... Ok so now that stealing is now in the game, I think it needs some tweaking. First off, there should be a flag for actually murdering someone. I can't stand stealing a bunch of stuff, without murdering someone and being kill on sight by guards. If a guard spots me and I flee, ya then it should flag me as kill on sight, for a time at least. Then after that amount of time, this should reset and once a guard see's me requests that I pay my fine and of course can pay or attempt to flee which would increase my bounty, unless I happened to kill someone then it should flag me as a murderer and guards attack on sight, but I think it's dumb that if I flee or have a bounty at a certain number it flags me as kill on sight no matter what.

Here's my next big suggestion:

Prison. I liked the idea of prison in the previous Elder Scrolls games. The idea of being in prison and having all your possessions removed and put into an evidence locker is much more realistic then this current system. I was messing around with the system the first day to see how it worked and I ended up with a near 20k bounty. Having no way to pay this off since I dont have that much money, and at the time I wasn't aware of how the bounty system worked entirely, I was frustrated being stuck to not be able to access any of the merchants, stables or a bank except through access of the outlaw refuges. I do like the idea of being refused by npc's but if you end up with a large bounty you have to wait days sometimes to get the bounty down and seems silly to wait days for a bounty to go away. I think prisons should drastically reduce the time for bounties to decrease. A prison you can't get out of, or maybe do it the same as the other games like 1 lock pick etc...

A problem I tend to notice, if you attempt to pickpocket and you fail they just stand there. Of course some attack you which is neat but npc's standing around don't tend to do anything. You would think if someone attempted to pickpocket someone in real life and was caught, people heard the commotion they would tend to gather in curiosity. Perhaps this could be tweaked to attract more attention so the guards are more prone to get in volved. The system as it is, is too robotic in nature.

As of writing this I can't really think of anything else that I wanted to write so I'll edit this or add more in replies at a later time.

Something I just thought of a moment ago, didn't realize till last night the bounty amount you get is level based. My vr 6 gets 78 per failed pickpocket attempt while my lvl 3 gets 4 gold. This should be universal since the amount of gold you can get by pickpocketing is universal. The prices could possibly be adjusted a bit more instead of being based on "color". Like a rating system based on how useful the item "could" be and/or the value of an item based on what it actually IS. So the color variant can sort of apply but in a different way.

Another idea is having stealable costumes. I like the idea of stealing clothes like out of someone's house. The more valuable the clothing maybe have it harder to steal? Like if someone has elegant noble-esque clothes they lock them in a chest vs regular commoner clothing. The reason I say costumes is, if the outfits based on value might have a distinct look that roleplayers would definatly want to take advantage of. So obvoiusly having it as a costume would eliminate having to put them in clothing spots. Now that I think about it though the achievements for being caught wearing articles of clothing in each spot would be pointless so maybe have the higher tier clothing as costumes and keep the lower end to each slot so that it's something for higher level thieves have something to strive for.

Guards should chase you inside buildings and such... WAY to easy to lose a guard simply by "zoning".

First things first, let them fully implement P2 and P3 of their system then critique it.

I think for now they should plug up their system a bit, what I mean is it is FAR to easy to steal and make tons of loot.

My cousin made a toon and at lvl3 she was running around stealing everything in sight with NO leather not NB nothing and made a couple K in minutes, never got caught nor any bounty.

I think first they should stop the money haemorrhage that is P1 :dizzy:

Edit: Corrected spelling to make sense

    I made a new orc.
    Skipped tutorial.
    Had no gold.
Ran around being happy, punching my fists in the air.

Accidentally punched a guard in the face.

    Got bounty.
    Tried to run.
    Got caught.
Had no gold to pay bounty since I skipped tutorial.

    Got killed.

    Respawned.
    Got killed again.
    Respawned.
    Got killed again.
    Quit and remade my orc.

No more punching the air, it leads to a life of crime.

Yeah, prisons as an alternative to paying bounty would be nice. Currently you can just do all the criminal stuff just before you log off for the night.. then after a nights sleep and a day at work / school you are back to 'clean' status again.

Would be nice if the life of crime was a bit more dynamic, meaning... we should be able to sneak around, avoid guards etc and still be able to do certain things even though we are wanted and not simply be blocked from doing anything. Half the fun with being a thief and a pickpocket is the risk of being caught, recognized and/or chased through the city :)
