Does DC feel less-popular?

It really gave me (Daggerfall Covenant) that roguish adventurer feel to it. I felt like I could run into Conan or Sinbad, or even Dr. Jones on Stros. Whereas the Dominion gives you the whole "true hero" feel to it, which is all well and good, but I've done that a hundred times over in many games. Ebonheart was the opposite, and had that grim and gritty warrior style.
This is the exact same way I perceive all of the factions.

I wanted to roll Nightblade, but it didn't fit the colorful theme of AD, and was an Altmer, so EP was not a choice either (race-hate). Ultimately DC came to my mind. I didn't like the deserts, however, but all the medieval-like areas and many rogue-like quests were all just great!

I also wanted to roll Sorcerer and an Altmer as well, so I couldn't think of better place for her than AD and it suited perfectly.

The only downside to DC is that the environment feels a bit empty in some places. I mean, take a look at the AD or EP - it's really dense there. Just have to look up really high to actually see the sky - there are trees, jungles or mountains, lava, mushrooms etc. In DC, there are just... well, plains - a bit of grass, a few trees and the skies.

I like DC because the first major town's bank drops a ton of motifs.. ok that and I really like the desert island full of pirates.

I chose DC because of the old game but I chose to be an Imperial Sorcerer rather than a native race. I'll admit to being happier with DC than AD but I find EP to be more fun for some reason.

Also with player race-alliance restriction for most players, and people being in love with Elves, people have to choose AD or EP.

To be honest, if I went by the starter island (appearance not story) alone, I'd go AD, DC then EP.

If I went by race I'd go DC, AD, EP. My main is a Breton Sorcerer.

If I went by actual storyline, I'd go DC, EP, AD. I say DC because I tried all the starter islands but DC kept me the most interested. I just made 46th last night with my DC character and am no higher than 12 with any of my others.

All that being said, I am looking forward to seeing the other areas once I reach Veteran level.

I chose DC primarily because there are no elves. If there was an alliance that had no Mer then I'd be even happier. (Just roleplaying the 'opposite' of those snooty Altmer)

Actually, discussing DC popularity at DC forum section might be a bit unreliable. ;-)

DC is my favorite faction. The Alik'r desert is probably the coolest region yet, and the Ash'abah is the coolest new introduction to lore. Pariah Redguard withchunters? I hope when if Elder Scrolls: Hammerfell comes out, they keep that.

After completing veteran content, I can say that DC zones are my favourite. I really enjoyed the time I spent there, I also like the storyline and some NPCs. Too bad I'm loyal to AD, otherwise I would definitely turn into a smurf :D

    Daggerfall is underpopulated.

Notice it a lot in Cyrodiil. First couple of days the Dominion on Auriels Bow were locked, Ebonheart were high pop and we were low ... we managed to bump up to medium yesterday and last night/today we filled up.

But Dominion and Ebonheart seem to be the more popular factions.

I'm personally playing all three factions, so I rotate through them, I'm not noticing any major lack in PVE, but it may be more noticable in PVP.

I think the Daggerfall group started only after seeing the others unite.
    They picked last.
    Seems kind of slapped together.
    And relatively boring.

They are also the cause of two rather harrowing decisions you have to make very early on in the EP storyline.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

I would agree that you are the least interesting alliance.

Racially you have slightly more magical humans, dark skinned warrior humans, and a race that failed so bad at being mer their now considered a beast race.

Culturally you have a group who are mostly about wanting to become merchant knights, a warrior culture that while respectable has weird shortcomings, and one of the most backwards cultures in tamriel that seems to try and kill their own race. (plus orc society only works since most orcs are too stupid to realize even if your warchief is the strongest you outnumber him enough that that doesn't matter)

Your end goal is rather boring since your pretty much just restore order so our merchants can keep their profits up. Not to mention its the closest goal to what actually happens even though your alliance fails to do it.

Also your story comes off as feeling more like your problems are caused by the alliance being over extended just to keep up with the Pact and Dominion.

It's a pick your poison thing. I'll pick the "less interesting" and most stable faction over the crazy elves, drunken Nords, whacked out khajiit, and hippie Argonians any day.

You should give it a try man. PvP is literally the heart of ESO. You are missing a huge chunk of content.

There is def less DC than before from launch. It is noticeable in PvE now where it has been noticeable for a while since the new PvP servers.

Many DC i once played with have rolled EP or AD chars as well.

I've watched a few streamers playing in ESO, and either they go Aldemri or Ebonheart.

Most of my friends did that aswell, but I went Daggerfall cause of the deserts, the Alkir desert is amazing! :D

But I feel like people don't find Daggerfall that interesting, that they got boring races and all that, what do you think about this, and why did you go Daggerfall?

I am an ESO streamer at twitch as well and i <3 Daggerfall Covenant i play a lot of PvP not that much PvE though.

With the pack that came with my game I made an Argonian in DC (Orc is my second favorite race) Starting zone wise I prefer Daggerfall. Choosing between a pretty forest and a 'where is the road how do I get there ahh lava!" place like the pact's starting zone is not a very hard choice for me (granted the 'Skyrim' side of Tamriel is very tempting)

I am not an elf fan so Dominion was not my place. It killed my char 4 times in the STARTING quest line (once cause I had my sword on my left hand, silly me) So stayed out.

It helped that I came across a very neat DC guild too.

The cinematic trailer sure didn't help the DC cause. Although not many people will choose a faction only based on a trailer, it is one of the first things you see when looking into a game, and can set a negative image. The Breton in that trailer gets his butt handed to him by everyone except the first few peons he fights. So much so he is begging the elf at the end to kill him . . .

Daggerfall is definitely the smallest of the three factions, but we still do quite well in PvP. It'd be nice if it were more balanced, but we can certainly hold our own and win many campaigns.

As far as streamers go...well, frankly, we don't have enough of them in GENERAL. But I do notice that most streamers of ESO do run AD or EP. Lady Ase and Lumithelock stream for DC fairly often, and they're pretty good, and we also do have a TESO podcast run by DC folks as of a few weeks ago (shameless plug since I'm often on it) - TESO Nation. So there is some life in the Covenant, don't worry!

DC is underpopulated. I believe it has to do with the race selections. They are for the most part "meh" underwhelming. If I did not have the imperial edition and explorer pack I'd likely be playing AD or EP. I joined DC cuz the first guild I was in was DC. I stayed because I like a challenge and enjoy being the underdog and as I mentioned I purchased the IMP and Exp editions. It pushes me to be a better player in PvP. There's a reason my NB is a Khajiit and my DK is a Dunmer. I see more Khajiit NB's in DC then other races.

There is a draw to the other factions for attachment to Morrowind and AD from Skyrim. Plus there's some effective and cool race choices.

DC races are OK but they aren't anything you'd pick over another race or Imperial if you had the choice. If ZoS spruced up the racial skills and passives that could change but until then it's going to be hard for DC's popularity.

I think it's because there are alot of fans of TESIII:Morrowind, and TESV:Skryim, and those areas are in the Ebonheart Pact. So I understand the appeal for that faction.

But i dont understand why the Dominion is so popular. The Thalmor were scumbags in TESV. I guess too many people love high elves, because of LOTR. Or they like being the bad guys.

I'm Daggerfall all the way. High Rock looks nicer than the other provinces, and I like what the faction stands for. I also play Bretons in the single player TES games, so I feel that it's my home province.

The fact that we are less popular makes me like the DC even more. We are unique.
