Are multirole builds nearly dead with 1.6?

Usually when looking for team members for a delve you will see people calling out in zone chat that they are looking for a team and that they can fill two roles: DPS/heals, DPS/tank, or heal/tank seem to be the most common combinations. Having people with some flexibility is very helpful for putting teams together. It seems with the removal of the caps that characters are going to have to shift to focus on a single role.

Is that how other players are reading this as well?

When you get 900-1000 CP, you can pull off a multi-role build again, 900-1000 CP is where you're at on Live, if done right. Right at launch of 1.6, people are saying you need to dump it all into one stat, Stamina or Magic, in order to be effective.

Maybe for the most part, although I think magicka heals and magicka DPS will still be viable.

I'm probably screwed because I have a snipe/bow bar for stealth situations and counter sniping when needed; and then a support heals/resto bar for stacking on crown (PvP focuse here). I'm still a ways off from getting vigor and I am not sure of anything stamina that offers as much support as I can now as sort of a hybrid.

I was thinking that heals/magicka DPS might be the only viable combination. Sad as that is based on where magicka DPS seems to be.

I think there will be less of an ability to draw on different resource pools, especially at first. Like @Panda244 said, once we have more CP, we'll be able to branch out a bit. Until then, if you're dead set on having multiple roles available to you, it will be better to go with something general like stam regen, which would help both a tank and a stam dps.

Agreed, heal/tank and Magicka-DPS/tank went away for now with the Light Armor armor nerf, health nerf, and armor set nerfs.

The introduction of CP is just going to force more people into that single role as it will take 6-9 months of farming CP to be able to effectively play two different roles. Templar healers will have to put all points into Healing/magicka to be effective for group healing since every Dungeon the game really requires a main healer. The limited self healing that some classes have really force the need for a main healer.

Until every class can effectively manage their own health levels(WITHOUT A RESTO STAFF), the game will always need main healers forcing some into one role.

At the standard 70 CP I still pull off tank/dps. I mix Health, Stamina, and a little Magicka with some regeneration. Back before the balancing to boss mobs (when they were too powerful), I was dpsing mobs while tanking the boss.
Hybrid builds are there in 1.6, and they kick butt. But they aren't builds for the average player.

While the hybrid build might be fun and is certainly great for solo and more casual play, for trials, PVP, and vet dungeons all the push is going to be to maximize resource assignment to the role: Stamina (stamina DPS), Magicka (heals & Magicka DPS), or health (tank).

The old system of putting most all your attribute points into health and then using gear to get to the soft camp is gone and with it some of the role flexibility I think.

The testing I did was in 1.6.0 and the content tested was Lower and Upper Craglorn, Wayrest Sewers, Veteran Wayrest Sewers, and Veteran Banished Cells. While more focus had to be paid to damage mitigation in Veteran Wayrest Sewers, I was able to tank/dps successfully in all scenarios.

In later builds with NA characters copied (1.6.2), I continued to test various areas of Craglorn, but have not attempted a dungeon or Veteran dungeon.

Hybrid builds are not the best, but they have something others lack: versatility. And it takes no small degree of skill to get the most out of versatility. Hybrid role builds will decline after 1.6, but not disappear.
