Bound Armor

Hi,

I recently got the skill Bound Armor.

I was pretty shocked when I realized the Spell changes your characters Armorskin PERMANENTLY (until disabled).

Who uses a spell that covers up your character? Whats the use of Armor-Skins then?

Please Bethesda, change that immediately.
That skill kills my whole template of a sorcerer-tank -.-

I actually like the look of the Bound Armor - I would love to keep the look of a Bound armor, but using Thundering Presence instead of it :-)

And you like it that much that you hve no problem never to see your characters Equipment in combat again? That it makes no difference how cool your armor looks? Forever? And ever?

In stead of altering one spell illusion why not request ability to toggle via game play option show spell appearances etc. (show helmet etc). Some people like it.

I'd prefer it to change the color/texture of current armor personalty than the Deadra set. When you go up against someone, if you see that armor it screams mage pretty quick. But I don't hate it.

Shocked? haven't you played any previous Elder Scrolls games? Of course it changes your appearance and i'm personally glad it does so. Do not want it changed.

I wouldn't mind if they added an option similar to that of hide helmet for players like your self. But to remove it just because you don't like it, i disagree.

It also lets me know in PvP that the mage i'm about to engage is wearing bound armour, and thus will be a little less squishy than those without it.

I Agree with the op, having this skill in my bar makes all my armor/gear progresionuselee in terms of skins/looking good ofc.

I also liked the new skin that bound armor puts you at first , but then i realiced i was getting good looking pieces of armor and i would never see them :(

IMO it should skin over your equipment, so the "look" of your character changes with your new armor but the bound armor "covers" your said armor with it's own unique texture over the model of your armor.

Rather then bound armor replacing your armor with it's own model and making everyone look like a shredder knock off.

I thought it was cool at first, but now I hate it. I want to be able to customize my character at least a little.

I guess it makes it easy for everyone in Cyrodiil to know who to follow in battle: The guy with Bound Armor, flashing sparks everywhere, named Ironside.

Thats THE first thing I always modded away in all the Offline-Games.

Whats the point in having Armorskins at all if they get overwritten by some default-graphics?

You do realise some idiots are willing to pay 100k to get that armor skin permanently.... bound armor is actualy the heavy daedric end game motif you should think yourself lucky.

I got this skin at lvl 25.

So now I will have the same skin for the rest of the game. I'm stuck with this FOREVER.

I can't imagine a mmorpg where my skin never change. What the *** is this ?

Bound weapons (Sword, Battleaxe, Bow and Dagger with DLC) in Skyrim.

No bound armour (officially) from Bethesda in Skyrim, mods yes.

Not "all" Elder Scrolls games had bound armour ;)

At first I did not like the "Bound Armor" look, but then it grew on me.
The secret is simple: you can toggle the armor. At any moment! ;)

I get plenty of opportunities to view my real armor when I travel, trade, craft or quest. Or even kill random mobs or wait for boss spawn.
So I only wear BA in serious fights, when priority is on surviving through any means, not on looking extra cool.

But if it's a deal breaker for you, I would suggest looking into "Lightning form" skill - I heard it's even more effective than BA, anyway.

Correct me if Im wrong but as I read the description it adds to your armor value. It doesnt replace your armor. If it replaced your armor then everyone would have the same armor value that used bound armor.

And iirc it in previous ES's when you cast bound armor it removed your other armor.

I roll a melee sorcerer and use this on occasion for the extra armor. I always get asked if I can make someone a set. On a side note it is fun to look like Shredder.

My problem with bound armor is that it overrides all the disguises and costumes. I don't think thats fair. You used to be able to work around it by using weapon swap but they must have changed that. :( No more costumes or cool gear sets for me I guess. Please change this if possible ESO... or at least put the bug back in that drops the bound armor visual when you weapon swap... :)

My beef with bound armor is it actually makes your character skinnier/less muscular. It just looks weird when your character has more bulk and suddenly he looks lanky.

But the armor itself is pretty cool, scaling issues aside.

What they should have done is something like mass effect's tech armor - a magical, holographic-looking thing that goes over your worn armor, but still shows it.

Bound armor ... well in previous TES games it's explained that you are not just conjuring armor, you are conjuring a daedra that wraps around you in the "shape" of armor. It always struck me as 1-a pretty intimate relationship, and 2-a pretty bizarrely brave thing for a daedra to be willing to do. Morrowind also had bound weapons - similar explanations given.

Yes it always appears as daedric armor, because it is a daedra.

My higher level sorcerers tend to use both bound armor and thundering presence - started with 'early' (non vet) journeys to Cyrodiil where I found I was really good at dying fast, and that helped. A lot.

I really hope that it won't have a toggle 'off' because that really violates a lot of lore. I had thought that it could be affected by 'hide helmet' but I'm not 100% sure that I've tried it with that particular armor (the folks I have that use it are generally not concerned with showing their faces).

This is one of those things that - yes it's "weird" but it's part of the flavor of the world, so I would say it's important not to cheapen it.

The helm does dissappear but it looks like it makes your eyes still glow. However the Bound armor overwhelming costumes means anyone who uses it can't use costumes from the upcoming shop. Well unless they want to constantly turn it on and off.

I use costumes and turn them on and off. It's part of how I role play my character. And for people with computer-enhanced macro-assisted skills, it can't be that hard to include a simple armor toggle on entering combat.

I just can't work up a lot of sympathy for someone so anguished over one darn keystroke.

I admit, I stink at coordinating keystrokes myself, and have done plenty of odd things like switch out weapons AND disabling bound armor in the middle of a fight. Lets just say it did not go well.

    It's a game.
