To add further to the conversation about social skills. I veiw this as an fresh oppertunity to display my own. Yes there are always oppertunities, and no not everyone will respond positively to it. But I see no harm in putting myself out there and welocoming others. Someone has to make the first move right?
How they respond is up to them. But it will be a good oppertunity to make new friends

And again, it is a Little frustrating but maybe it is my bad English. Every new Player is welcome and was welcome before this Thread. The Community of Teso is one of the best i have ever seen, and very helpfull.
Do we really need Special Actions to welcome new Players, or the new Players are upset about our "Welcome"? Does the Community something wrong in the Past? I dont think so, thats all i mean. The Community does a good Welcome-Work before too.
If someone want to start Packages for new Adventures, or Welcome-Partys (not every new player likes that btw), he can do this. But starting a Thread in the Forum to start more and more isnt a good Way. It should work in the Mind and Heart, without big Buisiness.
I think a normal "Welcome, if you Need help /w", should be enough to appear friendly and make new "Friends"
.

Going to respond to this one instead since it's more concise than the one I responded to before.
I'm well aware that every new player is welcome and was welcome before this thread, I know how awesome our community is and no, I don't think we need special actions to welcome the community. We're always great!
I think the problem here is a fundamental misunderstanding in the intentions of this thread - the purpose is not to right any wrongs or have to go the extra mile to show what our community is like. Nor is it "big business" - the reason I started this thread is because I thought that it would be a nice, fun thing to do and wanted to share my idea with people because the more the merrier.
Regarding 'provision packs' this was something we came up because we thought about what we would have appreciated when we first started out, and turned it into a charitable welcoming gesture.

on the 17th of March (Server status permitting) and commencing Saturday (21st of March) I propose that, en masse to ensure we cover as many server shards as possible, greet new players emerging from their respective Starter Houses in the three Alliances, offering them friendly advice and 'Provisions Packages' via Mail with a short standard text with key information and directions to the Guild Stalls in that city.[/b][/center]

I intend to pitch this to my guild, but the above sentence confuses me.
What exactly happens on the 17th and what exactly happens on the 21st? Also, I thought nobody knew the release date. How do we know 1.6 will go live by then?
It's a fantastic idea. I routinely did this on another MMORPG years ago. The sense of satisfaction was intense.
Thanks, @Animus_Igneus. It sounds like fun.

I am GM of a small guild on EU server (22 members currently), but am interested in your idea and would like to offer whatever help we can. I will try to catch up with you in game, but please feel free to whisper or add me in game, same id as my forum name.
Cheers

You worded it much better than I did I suppose. All I got for my wording was being called entitled as if I had had the game handed to me in a hand basket and not played it and earned my keep starting out fresh from Beta. The OP thought I was being a big poopie head, so he resorted to being a big poopie head himself. Amazing how perceptions work isn't it?
What if zos created a special guild trader that anyone could post auctions with, anything they wanted to post would be fine as well. Each item would have a fixed price of 1 gold and could be purchased by any account age 30 days or younger. Said accounts could withdraw a maximum of say 25 items after they have perused the store.
