Nirnhoned armor might be an issue.

Just checked the tooltip -- looks like it's still giving a bonus to total spell resistance rather than just a bonus to that item's contributed spell resistance. If gold nirnhoned is 4.5%, you could approach a 36% bonus to total resistance. With heavy armor, this could be quite a sum.

Is this intended? Or should the trait be working like the sardonyx -- giving a bonus to that item's resistance only?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think there are no resistance enchants for armor pieces. So, there would be nothing to increase.

Every armor piece can have nirnhoned, which increases spell resistance.

I don't really understand what you mean. What exacty should those 4.5% increase?

Ah, I got it. Well, thanks for the 'LOL', but it could have instead been clarified, that heavy armor pieces grant spell resistance on the pts.

In case you didn't read anything previous talking about spell resistance, here's a picture to help you.
