How to get rid of a bounty?

Lizenya
Lizenya
To start off i have to say that the bounty system seems really nice, beacuse with all the guards in towns it is quite difficult to maintain normal play when you have a bounty on you. I like that there are consequences when you choose to be a criminal :)

But what i didn't find so far is a way to get rid of my bounty...
It took me only half an hour to get a bounty of 60k and i could just go on stacking more bounty by killing npcs. Then a guard killed me, took all my gold, leaving the remaining 53k as bounty on me.

All guards are still attacking me on sight, but i don't have gold they could take to lower the bounty. And in the refuge all i can do is actually paying my bounty... what criminal would do that??
The bounty is going down over time, regardless of being logged on or off at the same rate, about 20g every 3 mins.

So is it really intended that after killing nps for 30 mins i have to wait 5 days real time till i'm able to play again? Seems a bit too hard punishment even for mass murder ;)

Or am i missing something?

If you go on a spree like some psychotic serial killer, there are consequences. Either don't do it (like a normal sane person), or make sure you have cash to pay off the bounty.

Have played games in the past where players that generate criminal points and lose them over time have the option of instantly wiping them clean via cash shop.
Would not be surprised if such made its way here, but it seems at this time your option is to wait it out.

Go to an outlaw refuge and pay a fence to clear your bounty.

Also, don't kill in front of witnesses. But a good thief doesn't kill. You are a perfect example why. :#

There was another thread earlier where someone posted up some good ideas such as the outlaw dungeon/mall having a pawn shop so that you could pawn gear in order to raise money in the short term to pay off a high bounty, which I thought was a pretty cool suggestion.

But really, you can't go round on a mass murdering spree without having to face some sort of consequences. Good luck in getting your bounty paid off, and in future try not to give in to your murderous urges!

STOP RIGHT THERE, CRIMINAL SCUM!

Ah, can't wait until the day when every lawful and upstanding citizen gets to have a shot at bringing down homicidal maniacs like you. You'd never make it to a fence anywhere near a city. :smiling_imp:

But then again, I guess I'd be the first to murder some innocent in their sleep the day the DB goes live. Just to receive those two sweet words scrawled on a piece of paper: We Know. :innocent:
